It's fascinating how much better the Kelly comics are compared to his other ones. I think despite making the Kelly comics to dunk on rightwingers etc, he can't help but put his mind in someone else's position, even if it's a strawman, so it just becomes a lot more endearing and interesting, particularly the irony. His non filtered comics are just boring preachiness, no spice or cleverness.
