What was missing from Invincible that could have made it great?
>>154148380A lot of the character arcs had an interesting beginning and middle but a disappointing ending. Also some of the meta shit was garbage.
>>154148380Better fights. There's only 1 in the entire run that anyone likes and that happens mostly offscreen.
>>154148380Frontal female nudity
>>154148380Ya know
>>154148720This
>>154148380robot should have won
>>154148380Mark was pretty bland, just sorta a typical male MC. His conflicts were just kinda generic aside from stuff with his dad. Like does every super hero need to go through an inner search of the soul about killing bad guys?
>>154148380Making it into a real space series. Ditch the super hero and capes shit once omniman was revealed to be part of the vilyrumites. Its a known thing amongst the upper echelons and some people but not big enough to be common knowledge.Other more powerful alien races. Just make the viltrumites space vikings and coloniasts who would fokd easily to a more advanced species.Mark embracing the viltrumite idea and vecoming more brutal and warlike and struggles to control his temper.
>>154148380Eve and Mark didn't have any chemistry. But I think Kirkman made up for that with the five-year timeskip where she dated the guy in blue. It makes a lot of sense, since their relationship always felt forced.
>>154148380Personally, I think he should have made angstrom into the cape. That would have been funnier and very controversial.
>>154148380It gets too repetitive and the only interesting characters are villains.
>>154149083Honestly, the more important (not inherently more interesting) conflict is how the setting handles supers icing villains (which should be settled if there's been superhuman activity for any extended period). The actual problem with Superman killing a motherfucker is that opens the question of who he can't (not won't) kill. You're always gonna have some heroes dealing with the inner turmoil of seeing death happen or even delivering it, but entire fields of scientific inquiry have been based on the question of "How do we weaponize this/how do we prevent this from killing us?" If someone started shooting laser beams out of his eyes I guarantee there would be an inquiry within an hour as to whether or not his DNA sequence was on file.Superpowers unironically destroy any setting they're in because there are only two logical reactions any sufficiently large organization would have to them: Get them under control or try to destroy them.
>>154148380White Christian values.
>>154149112I heard Ottley didn't like the space stuff, so Kirkman wrapped it up. Could be bullshit, though.
>>154148380good writingEverything falls apart when Kirkman realizes he can't have the Coalition win. It's just outright impossible. Thragg alone could solo the entire fucking universe. And what does he do? He lets them win but lose because muh empathy.Because all that was needed to turn a race of nigh-immortal gods into normies was pussy, coffee, and Netflix. I laughed when I first read it, but that one anon who brought up Mark getting raped as the only real consequence of the Viltrumites winning was right.
DINOSAURUS WAS RIGHT.WE NEED TO CARPET BOMB PALANTIR DATA CENTERS.
>>154151333Dinosaurus was wrong. He said it himself.
>>154148380Proper buildup and pacing, which the show is alleviating.
>>154150250if that's true than ottley is the biggest fucking fag in existence. "oh no, not awesome space stuff, i want to go back to earth and see what bulletproof is doing"
>>154151751What was the point of Bulletproof?
>>154150250Viltrumite space stuff or the im living on another planet space stuff
>>154148380Good writing?
>>154148380A white guy that could create a good resistance that wasn't a genderswap or a scarred, sniveled-up old glowie prune.
>>154148380Doesn't hit quite as hard as Thragg wearing Battle Beast.
>>154150267>not even viltrumites are immune to goyslopthe jews
>>154148380The homeless girl who was friends with Martian Man becoming friends with Shapesmith
>>154157342a different and better writer, most of the problems associated with invincible are consistent with the rest of Robert Kirkman's catalogue
>>154148380>watched Invincible s1>good but not as great as its fans painted it>years later, my feed is full of edits and memes about Invincible War>oh great, an arc where the protagonist could make some introspection about why he is a hero and what could make him a villain like the other versions of himself>well, maybe its just full of interesting fights >watch the series: 1 chapter...... with a lot of offscreen fights >read the comic: same crap i dont get it, why it was so popular?
>>154159472the first thing the west has that is remotely similar to an anime based off a manga
Eve and Mark's mother just kill every scene they are in stone dead
>>154159472one of the few shows where the target audience is boys/men
