Regarding comics and cartoons, I think the only franchise to ever come close to the scale of Yu-Gi-Oh! in the West is Transformers. They have even survived all this time, but I wonder why it is so hard for Western companies to make high-quality toys and merchandise based on their shows. Is there another Western equivalent to Yu-Gi-Oh! or even Beyblade?"

The greatest the West can produce is something from the East?

Transformers is an East thing?

Westerns are generally more intelligent and care more about the narrative than toys. They also grow out of cartoons much faster.

Lmao. The most popular western cartoons have braindead narratives.

Damn, I have a race traitor somewhere in the family ancestry it appears
But still, a huge market for these toys are located in the west, hell every TCG company will go bankrupt without western fans, anon, are you making stuff up again?

That's a bacon you digital circus freak
>>

Something tells me you made all that up for the sake of some hamfisted east vs west argument.
>>
>>154162764
Yes. Hasbro took Japanese toys like Tomy and marketed them to Americans as Transformers.
>>
>>154162764
Yes and no. Depends on whether you go by the original toyline or the original show, and even then depending on writing vs animating, but then things also became a huge mess of things going back and forth from that point, with East and West having their own shows and continuities even within those shows and their own toylines and all this other shit.

At this point it's honestly fair to just not call Transformers as a show belonging or stemming from either. It's much bigger than that. That's what made the anniversary short by Trigger even better, since they paid tribute to so much of everything
