In this thread we show respect towards Leon Schlesinger. Without him we would not have some of the great cartoons ever. Without these cartoons they wouldn't have inspired other creators to make other cartoons.
>But how is he responsible for this?
By simply leaving creative and talented men alone to do their work. Imagine if he would have been more "hands on"
>>
You don't have an example of him being more hands on to compare to so how do we know things would have been worse if he was more hands on?
>>

You know the answer to this
>>
>>154170473
I genuinely don't because there's zero data to prove any point.
>>
>>154170443
>hes responsible for John k.
Yikes
>>
We need more producers who don't care about flushing money down the toilet
>>
>>154171120
You're lying and know EXACTLY what the answer is. Why are you pretending not to I don't understand

Exactly

He was also responsible for Kazuhide Tomonaga as well.
Not yikes.

what's he kazuhiding from

The only time I can think of him being hands on was when he had the ending of "The Heckling Hare" cut off.

The original ending had Bugs and Willoughby the dog falling from a cliff, then braking at the last minute. Bugs sneers "fooled ya" at the audience, then he and Willoughby proceed to accidentally step off another cliff.

Slesinger had the second fall cut from the final print, for reasons unknown. This caused Tex Avery to quit and go to MGM.

Otherwise Slesinger was pretty hands off.

>this man was important. For doing nothing...

Yes.

>This caused Tex Avery to quit and go to MGM.
Why do people still believe this
>>
turns out that letting the artists work (within some reasonable time/budget/content limitations) unmolested gets results.
>>
>>154172464
Yes that is correct
>>
Schlesinger demanded more Porky cartoons, possibly because he identified with him, so the cartoonists would just make random drawings of Porky so he'd nod at seeing the pig and leave them alone while they made whatever non-Porky cartoons they actually wanted to do.

Great boss we need more like him especially in this day of age

Who would have thought
