What really killed the story was the depression arc in Jadis' Bass Pro Shop Pyramid and the hitherto pointlessness of the training arc afterward. So my suggestion would be to combine Jadis and the training with Maya, maybe make Jadis basically be haunting Allison with nihilism while she's trying to learn from Maya. And then rework this whole damn final battle from the ground up. I still need to see where exactly Abby is going with all this to speak definitively, but I find it very difficult to believe this was the best way to go about it.
The comic stopped being good at the exact point I caught up on the backlog and started waiting for weekly updates. Funny how that works
