That's how it should be, it makes sense for her to be professional, but Harley Quinn has a silly voice, personality, and costume, and a complicated backstory. I don't even know what Mercy's backstory is, which means it's not interesting at all.

She should be a mainstay in all future Superman adaptations alongside Tess so you can have a fun dynamic where Tess and Mercy are in love with Lex and show it in different ways but Lex is more concerned with Superman. Mercy wants to kill Superman, Tess is a Superman fangirl, etc. Mercy thinks Clark is cute while Tess finds him to be dorky, etc. Maybe even throw in some Yuribait by having Tess dote on Mercy and Mercy protect her and save her whenever Lex chooses to be a dick towards Tess.

Lex is a genius but he is still human and can't be everywhere at once having a loyal and competent right hand henchwoman to run errands and beat up low level threats works perfectly fine as a character. When henchman fail the villain repeatedly, someone like Lex Luthor. They should be fired at the very least. Lex having a series of hot mercenary body guards that serve him until they fail too many times and then are replaced makes more sense or is a more entertaining thought to me.
