>>154190179>implying peter would live to be old
>>154190179
That is nothing. want to feel old? Homer is 38. meaning he was married and had Bart when he was only 26/27. Because that is what adults normally do.How old are you reading this? Do you see yourself ever having half of what he has? What is funny is that Homer supposed to be this stand in for the average american but somewhat on the loser side of things. Kinda poor and stupid, but I would kill to have his life now since I'm 28. I just don't see it happening.
>>154190236I'm 35 and I'm painfully aware that I'm now older than Stu from Rugrats
>>154190179>Lois, this is more confusing than that time I got dementia. Remember that? It was worse than the time I got dementia. I hadn't been that turned around since the time I got dementia. It was so bad I was worse off than the time I got dementia.
>>154190236It's not my fault the culture Homer was supposed to represent as the average american no longer exists. I'm not going to beat myself up because to do so is to pretend I failed the system when it's the system that failed me along with everyone else.
>>154190236I usually find my self envious of the 'loser' characters in comedy shows.
>>154190276Hold old is Stu? Not even 30?
>>154190188Dumb luck is a powerful force.
>>154190376This. The older generations started pulling up the ladder in the 80s and everything really turned to shit back in 2008 and nobody's been bothered to fix it because corpos and boomers might be mildly inconvenienced. I don't even bother applying for jobs any more - not because I love being on benefits, but because I know employers won't even look at my CV because AI told them not to, or because I didn't take it off Indeed and reupload it every week, because some chode wrote in a shitty book that that was how good businesses find loyal employees or some shit.
>>154190236That's why I tend to really appreciate the future episodes. Before even they went to shit there was a habit of righting wrongs in them. Even now they serve as the closest to a respectable ending to the series. The insistence on pushing a sliding timescale onto the simpsons never sat right with me and still doesnt make sense now.
>>154190522Yeah I know the feeling anon. If shit doesnt turn around for me by 2030 I might just anhero.
>>154190188>>154190517This, I have witnessed guys that were that fat and smoked like a chimney into their fucking 90s. It defies all logic.
>>154190236I'm 32 with a wife and baby but my only expectation of home ownership basically comes down to dumb luck or hitting the lottery because that's the most likely way it could happen.
>>154190236Originally Homer was to be 28 but it got bumped up as they didn't want to imply that he and Marge were like 58% of Americans back then and had an oops baby before marriage in their teens, the shorts imply as much. Think on the fact that your parents and parents parents were married, with a house and car(s) with multiple kids before turning 30.And if you want to be really depressed look at the reason why the voting age in the US was 18, it was because most men over 18 had a wife and a kid. They saw them as mature enough to make big choices because they had a family to look after.
>>154190188his fishes saved him
>>154190236I turn 39 this month. I went back to school in my mid-20s and pursued a graduate education in Chemistry. Now I’ve got a PhD and I’m teaching and researching at a nice college, but I also haven’t really had a meaningful long term relationship or formed any new friendships outside my coworkers in the last 10-15 years. I’ve tried getting back into dating and extracurriculars, but it’s lonely and depressing and if I don’t manage to somehow find myself on the way to being married with kids in the next few years, I’m probably tapping out.
>>15419048033
>>154190734could always just go full hedonist before you tap out. Take a lot of risks and chances at things you want to see how they turn out. That's the fun thing we you start living with the mindset "Well I can always end it tomorrow" just makes you live for today.
>>15419023637. I’m not old, I’ve got time.
>>154190480>>154190750and he was 45 in all grown up. people forget that early 50s was the most common grandpa age until the last 25 years.
>>154190179family guy is so nortubel tier
>>154190581Hey, if you can burn down a data center on the way there that would be nice.>>154190597Throw enough shit at the wall and some of it will stick.
>>154190750Married pretty late I guess.
>>154191132>33>pretty latefuck, man, I was having a nice day until now
>>154190179This is where my dad is now. He wants to go home but his new wife makes excuses about why she can't take care of him
>>154190236It'll never happen where I'm living. They're slowly turning this nice town into a rich person summer resort. I'm gonna have to move somewhere cheaper
Is this the thread for cartoon characters invoking existential dread over the inevitable march of time?
I know people are complaining in this thread and yeah I too hate living inside all the time and constantly getting rejected from jobs in my twenties but I'm still at least trying to get some semblance of a career together and next month I start taking a professional animation course and working on a film with my school. It would be nice to get a girlfriend but that'll come later I suppose
>>154190636Why would you have a kid while living in apartments and unstable housing? I never understood people who have children knowing their situation wont improve.
>>154192040Because the alternative is you keep pushing it off until everything in your life is ‘just so’ only to realize you’re 45, alone, and infertile.
>>154192040Meh its not like the kids going to remember the first 2-3 years of being in a apartment instead of a home.
>>154191674Is this a Dan Schneider reference?
>>154190376Seriously. I went to college, tech degree in 2007 no less, and I got fuck all
>>15419023634. I am much better than most but would be much better if my parents didn't fuck me financially so much. I try to not cry for spilled milk but it is real hard when they keep being a financial nuisance. Love them but they are not good with money let me tell you that.Unrelated but does anyone know what happened to the co drawthread?
>>154193119posted the wrong image.
>>154193119>co drawthreadThey're still doing that with AI around?
>>154193206A.I exists but getting a fresh drawing is much cooler. especially when with some styles A.I still cant replicate it perfectly.last one got nuked for some reason
>>154193206Why wouldn't they? People still cook meals even with mcdonalds around.
>>154190236Ha ha loser, I’m 38 with a wife and kid.
>>154191805
growing up is expensive. women working fulltime also doesnt allow for kids or dating effectively. and thats discounting the menace that is social media ruining human contact. i got snubbed in 2010 for not having facebook despite getting on very well with the girl. normies are braindead cattle. jeff was correct
>>154193426My ideal future is me being the solo breadwinner of my family while my hypothetical wife stays home to raise our 6 kidsBut man, that goal's looking more and more impossible by the day.
>>154193556>6 kidsIt was already impossible. 3 is already pushing it. The only reason you see families pull it off is because they're on government handouts.
>>154190236We are closer to the day Homer was born in the Simpsons timeline after his show premiered.
>>154193584I'll gladly take some handouts :)
I was burnt out by social expectations by 2017 - dropped college, and stopped the idea of ever getting a girl and raising a family with her after one year of escaping high school. Is it even worth pursuing college again after all these years or will the job market get even more fucked up by the time I get out of it?
Maybe you guys shouldn't have watched cartoons all day long
>>154190179I don't really watch modern Family Guy but they ever do a joke where Peter sets up a "cut away gag" and then the rest of the episode is just 20 minutes taken off from the gag?then at the end it goes back to the original joke set up?
>>154193119>By taking rent we're helping teach you about 'responsibility' which will help you move out!>uh, no you fucks all its doing is taking my money and preventing me from saving to ever live on my own properlyIt's bollocks but the former generation thinks you can afford an entire house on an office or even a McDonalds salary like when they grew up.
>>154193652Unless you go for a specialized trade that you know you're good at, passionate and want to make your career, honestly don't bother. A sort of general studies education or college for the sake of it will honestly just land you in debt and not give you the skills or job you need to get ahead in life anymore. It's barely worth it at 20, let alone later in life.
>>154190581Don't kill yourself, kill others.
>>154192040>Why would you have a kid at allFixed.
>>154190236Im 27 am I supposed to feel bad?I almost had a kid twice with my gf but we aborted,it is what it isGives me more time to do acid and 2cb and lift weights and draw, might have one at 29 or 30Also you dont want to be homer, hes the prototype (worse than Fred Flintstone) for the lazy stupid manchild husband archetype that the media used for decades since, like the dad from gumball or Peter Griffin himself Id rather be a fit dude with a gf rather than a fat selfish idiot with a baby in this economy I have a job, a comp degree, 10 year gf, friends, and got my driver's license last year lolUnlike you I have hope instead of whining like a doomer that im nkt the fat funny yellow man from a still airing cartoon that overstayed its welcome with aging voice actors milked by Disney

>>154190655My parents were NOT having a comfortable time raising me in their 20s in the 2000s, they were arguing everyday and eventually he just left when I was 12 and my brother was 7Don't fall for the psyop, it was rough back then too
>>154193934I prefer their onion rings or those jalapeno bites, wish there was one closer to home.
>>154193652Honestly, have you thought of the army or any federal agency? ICE, Border Patrol, Coast Guard. They don’t require a fancy degree, good pay and benefits, can eventually pay for your education if you wish to pursue, and you’ll get /fit/. It was surprisingly easy to go far into the Special Agent positions before I got my current job. I imagine officers are just as easy.
>>154191805Time isn't real. When we die we escape the demiurges gay illusion and we see all of time simultaneously, since we are no longer "locked" in viewing time linearly
>>154193245>I’m 38 with a wife and kid.
>>154193779I fucking wish it was just rent problems>mother wasted around 20 fucking years on a failed business that only brought her misery and debt, had to help her pay the fucking thing because I was retarded enough to help with a loan on my name>dad is completely retarded with money and spends most of it on retarded shit that doesn't last, he also pays for everything my sister asks, he bought her a brand new car at the time and pays for her rent as well. let me remind you that he barely pays for anything in this house>sister is completely useless financially until she graduates.there is also the fact they are DIVORCED and living in the same apartment for 13 years fucking years, they hate each others guts but my father refuses to sell our current apartment and divide the money between then.only this year I was finally able to buy a new apartment so I can move out with my mom and then I'll have to buy another one for myself later so I can finally have some fucking peace.I could probably have a "everybody hates Chris" tier series of my life. It is legit too much retarded shit to deal and I have to live always alert because every week is some different retardation to deal with.
>>154190236>Homer is 38. meaning he was married and had Bart when he was only 26/27. Because that is what adults normally do.Reminder that when you are in your 40's, you should be a grandparent.
>>154190236I turn 34 in two weeks, I know I have nothing going on for me, I self-isolated because of that. because it helps me cope with the passage of time, it's only been a week so far, and I can't stand the slop on Youtube, playing Video Games and drawing has been the only thing worth it.But I wonder how long that'll keep me sane.

That's absurd, that's completely different than what you'd expect Peter Griffin to face. It's so out of left field, it winds back to being funny. In some other cases it's something like a thought experiment, how would this character act if they were in a different genre. And sometimrs people do it because they hate the character and want to see them suffer.
