Yumi implies that it's because of fighting monsters, yet you only had to be scanned to get return resistance, which should also mean at least some XANA resistance. But, we do have to consider that it was always the Scyphozoa that did the possessions of the cast, so it was possible that it could bypass the resistance, since it did have other abilities like the time it siphoned part of Yumi's code and making her unable to rematerialize.All in all though, it does sound like they're giving William a bit of a bad rep when his addition to the team was born out of necessity and urgency. It wasn't like he wanted to be possessed and made evil.

Gonna be interesting to see what they do, since I wouldn't be surprised if some of the push for this revival came from Ladybug's success. I would just hope they don't make it into the same drawn out story, especially since they're not abandoning the original storyline. Will also be fun to see if this leads to a revival of DVDs and maybe blurays for the series, since it had such a scattered released originally.
