This show is horrible and it's going to have a terrible long term impact on how Superman is viewed.
Zero impact sucks, but that's still not Bendis or JMS.

The show won't have nearly as much of an impact as you think because it's just built on what was already happening with the character.MoS, BvS, and New 52 created a growing "Superman shouldn't be edgy! He's supposed to be about hope and optimism! Clark Kent is a lovable dork" sentiment which somehow turned into a "Superman is a wholesome boi. Clark Kent is an adorkable bean. UwU" sentiment which led to a current flanderization. Like, Clark was less of the dork who was shy and clumsy and more of the dork who never attended a party after 9:00PM because he wanted to be up bright and early the next day. Someone who still very easily socialized and had a certain charm in the office.

My 3 year old daughter and I just finished BTAS again. She loved STAS, justice league and unlimited and adored STAS, but this looks gross. Oh, also I never saw it discussed (which may just show in not here enough anymore) but the Ruby Spears cartoons are fantastic. Fun, sharp writing, completely unapologetic about the material and the hero animations (the shots they pick as the most important in the ep) are often crazy good. The anime studio doing the work often gets to stretch their legs. I'm reminded of the ep where Lex buys the great wall of China with a plan that explicitly requires Superman to be so suspicious of Lex that he super spin burrows underneath it, and it's NOT a 'make Superman look bad to the public' or 'make Superman destroy the city' plot at all.
