They were going to but Paramount/Nickelodeon got cold-feet about making an R-rated TMNT movie since the franchise is seen as a kiddie property and they didn’t want their first live action TMNT in forever to be rated R.
So instead they are making a video game instead. Because video games can be violent and no one cares.

Movie was cancelled a few months ago, but the game is being made by Platinum, which people think is a good sign, but Platinum is not the same studio it once was.

Also, goes without saying that the comic would make for a terrible movie and a terrible game, because it was a terrible story, told poorly.
