Honestly, makes sense. I think Stewie should get his from leonardo da vinci, from lois side of family. I actually prefer my personal theory that peter is a very very powerful psychic with godlike powers (like that episode from the justice league from DCAU) and everyone in the family shares this power in some way.

But lois being actually secretly really smart is a good one too, and the art here is not that bad, just with shitty materials at hand, but I enjoy the 90's/2000's fan art vibe it has.

I think I can kinda get it. If someone suffers from chronic pain, they probably don't get out much and may latch onto fictional characters. Chrinic pain also explains the fantsdy of being able to swap out "defective" body parts quickly and easily.

it's because you have autism that you don't understand it. Autistics hyperfixate, it's part of their condition. to them (and to you) it just seems normal from the personal perspective, because autists also cannot truly understand the perspective of other people. it only seems weird when from the outside looking in as a result.

Funny enough i was born in 96 and thats basically my experience too. I thought aliens were invading and was excited cuz thatd be cool, that is until my dad told me after i got off the bus that some towelheads from some religion ive never heard of blew up some buildings that i also never heard of. I think its strange that i didnt even know of the WTC before 9/11 yet i visited new york several months prior in 2001 and i knew what the statue of liberty was at that age as well as the empire state building too.

Same, I think it's a mix of lower-functioning autists and the autists in threads like these being better socially conditioned for shame. We contain our extreme, embarrassing, life-ruining autistic tendencies to pseudo-anonymous internet sites like this one, if we post about them at all.

These people are absolutely shameless and oftentimes also borderline retarded, so they see no issue with posting their full legal name and a selfie and saying "I AM A PEDOPHILE AND I LIKE THIS SMALL CHILD CHARACTER FROM A CHILDRENS CARTOON" for everyone to see because to them it's no different than people saying their favorite color is blue or they like Megadeth or something

Because autism makes abstract concepts hard to grasp. Tributes that celebrate someone are at odds with the literal definition of mourning to someone with severe autism. You HAVE to be sad because a sad thing happened, if the characters aren't sad then how will people know you're sad about what happened? And you must write R.I.P. and their lifespan on there so it's very clear what the sadness is about.
Just be glad they're not so deep into the 'tism that they also need to put a fill paragraph of text on the image to explain what shows he had worked on and which episodes specifically.

why would you even have gone downtown tho

and if you did have some reason to go as far as battery park why would any of those enormous buildings have stood out against the rest

you know about empire state because it was the special little boy at one time and had lots of promo material devoted to it over the years, including becoming part of urban legends

by 2000 it had been standing for more than twice as long as the WTC - almost three times as long in parts - and was literally just a collection of buildings

put it another way: did you know Columbus Circle existed? it's older than the ESB and arguably just as important to the city's history, but it is ultimately just traffic management and not much fun to look at or go up; if you saw it while you were there, did it seem remarkable? did you notice the buildings around it - would you notice if they'd changed since then?

The thing is Internet culture made creative hobbies a minefield. You are not allowed to make a mistake. Let's say that you make an attempt at writing your first comic and that it legitimately suck. It can happen, after all you are inexperienced in your craft and you make rookie mistake and you can probably improve on your second try. Except in the meantime, cringe culture and meme culture have to be counted in the equation. Now for the general public, you'll only be known as that Deviantart guy that made a shitty comic last year. In their mind, they already decided that you can't never improve

Autism is a spectrum. I'm autistic too but I can still go out in public and do shit. That said, Hyperfixation still happens.

It's a person by person basis and some people on the lower end are either children who never grow up, or basically retards.

James Earl Jones's law.

No one hates autists more than other autists.

Basically, there's a large margin difference between the special needs kid diagnosed at 3 due to clearly missing developments, the one diagnosed 4-6 because of oddball behavior, and the kid diagnosed at 12 because kinda awkward.

Sometimes, this results in aspie supremacy but the most common manifestation is "autism is not an excuse!" when the person being talked about spent their whole life in self-contained settings with little socialization.

A lot of autists are subconsciously terrified of being lumped in with the non-verbal kid whose IEP had to include a procedure for when his meltdowns turned to physical violence because he never had the chance to transition to "use your words". And while they acknowledge that autism is a spectrum, they don't want that spectrum to feel too defined at risk of "invalidating" different parts of it.
So whenever you see one autist running around bullying other autists, it's usually some kind of defense mechanism. This is especially true when they get some of the more.. helicopter-y accomodations in their own IEP or a mother that won't shut up about their condition. The more insecure they are, the more they take it out on the actual full-blown speds.

Damn you put this really well
I've noticed this whole thing as well as the
>"autism is not an excuse!"
bit in particular

I used to think this was coming from regular people annoyed with autismos, but after I think some yt video in particular about some goanimate weirdos i think it was, I noticed it's other autists that can be pretty aggressive to others. This in particular got me rethinking how I judge those with autism as I had been pretty critical after getting familiar with lolcow types like cwc who used it as a crutch often, but in this case I noticed a lot of higher-functioning (seemingly at least) autismos in the comments being pretty vicious to some other ones who seemed legitimately unaware of the bad stuff they had done. It was really weird seeing no one bring it up in the comments the guy in question was pretty bad off.

I figured it was insecurity about their own condition rearing its head, but I also think that dimininished empathy must come into effect. I think some of them have a hard time realizing other, worse off autists can't just pull themselves up by the bootstraps in the same way. But's it not really clear cut cause some who would be more higher functioning do use it as a shield sometimes.

As it always was, autism seems very case-by-case. I think comorbidity with other things complicates matters a lot too.

Hello, sperg here.

I don't see most of these people as "full blown speds", I see them as people who were born substantially defective (RIP; better luck next life bud) who didn't receive the necessary care and understanding by those around them (not that that is necessarily the fault of either the autists or those around them - I know that autists can be miserable to wrangle) but who ALSO have given up on even a pretense of the level of normality necessary to function in greater society and for the latter I blame them; having known two or three of them I can somewhat speak to experience on this point. At some point you just can't just keep denying their personal agency and passing the buck because they're somewhere on the spectrum. "This person is a freak with autism so they must be low functioning" is bullshit. Plenty of these people have jobs and relationships.

More to the direct topic at hand, there is an IMMENSE gulf between "having a bizarre fixation" and "making your bizarre fixation your entire online identity". Case in point: Pamperchu. 100% autistic, 110% degenerate. He is certainly self-aware enough to think "hmm, do I want my paraphilia to be my public identity?" and his answer was yes. Compare to CWC, who is a "should be in a group home"-tier retard. On the other hand, look at the furry community. There are are a ton of thoroughly autistic furries making immense amounts of money in tech, engineering and art and holding down careers right alongside the ones that proudly advertise their lifestyle to all and sundry (who are often substantially less autistic than the former) - most of them thoroughly compartmentalize their paraphilia and degenerate sex lives because despite their autism they have the wherewithal to do so.

Alot of autism is a feeling of deep shame at not being normal enough. Even high functioning, I dread the idea of losing my mind or turning into a lower end autist just randomly.

I'm not sure how realistic it is, but anxiety's a plague on me.
>>
>>
>>154220265
Yeah, a lot of Level 1 autists punch down on Level 2 and Level 3 autists. I work with SPED kids and the Level 2 types are constantly dogpiled on by the Level 1 examples.

It's not right, but I understand it. I had to work with a Level 3 kid for an entire year and it was a stressful experience. Throwing things, getting into fights with other students, refusing to do any work, getting loud and aggressive, curling up into a ball and hiding under tables, etc.

There are just some children with autism who really should not be put out in public, they'd be better off in a group home or institutionalized.

It is strange meeting other Level 1 autists in the wild though as fully grown adults. I know one guy who's completely obsessed with old hippie Volkswagen vans to the point his Safety Care office is completely covered with pictures, toys, drawings, photos, and models of Volkswagen vans. He even owns one that he put together. Apparently his family lived in one when he was a kid, and he's been fixated on them ever since.

imagine this
you are a level 1 autistic, you are an intelligent, full person with compulsions you can't understand, difficulty interacting with people, are physically awkward. but under it all you are still 100% a person who is intellectually capable of understanding the world and your own disabilities.

and you are put into a class with drooling retards
