>>154219677Multiple reasons, but for summarize it: the movie itself is boring as fuck. The idea of making food tasting an orgasmic sensation is cringy. The rat is annoying as fuck. The lanky loser is an outright scumbag that goes gaga with the slightest taste of money. The romance between him and the tsundere tomboy is terribly unrealistic. The Jafar midget is just a moustsche twirling baddie with the character depth of a piss stain. The only thing good was the soundtrack, very relaxing although maybe too much stereotipically french.
Ratatouille ain't 96% good. Just RT blowing things out of proportion again.
Even Bird seems to acknowledge that he sorta missed the mark with Ratatouille, since he hasn't directed more original animation films since. Even if you like the film, it's hard to deny that it's easily Bird's weakest animation screenplay. It's not nearly as tight or well written as Iron Giant and Incredibles' screenplays. Lots of awkward interactions and not particularly funny jokes.
