So was it everything Monsters University made it out to be?
>>
>>154237825
only two were relevant to the characters, which was scarer and can design
but don was in computer science before entering the scarer program

I agree, but at the end of the day it's a sorta mediocre movie saved by a really, really strong final act, and in a way that comes from expectations being lowered by the first 2/3s

Anyway, it's generally a more palatable watch if you simply accept that Sully and specially Mike are entirely different characters than their counterparts in Monsters Inc. (actually different, not simply dismissible as "younger")
>>

I love his design, easily the most toyetic character in the Monsters Inc-iverse
>>

Johnny was based for marrying the Goth.
>>
>>154237825
This movie is kino, i might like it better than the first movie
>>
>>154237825
I'm sure the university was much larger than the Scare School, that's just the main program the university is known for.
>>

>a really, really strong final act
nah the final act is mid too
>>
Whole movie hinges on whether you're able to accept that a giant green eyeball with teeth isn't scary
>>
Out of curiosity why did Johnny marry the Goth?
>>
>>154244307

His problem is his personality isn’t terrifying and he can’t make frightening faces like his frat brother in MU.

He could just stand in a dark corner of a room and stare at a kid like this and he'd create long lasting trauma. He wouldn't even need to do anything.
>>
>>154244386
the main issue is that he can't grasp the subtleties. he doesnt have the instinct to turn "lost child" into "creepy stalker".

If she let them stay she would have prevented the end of scaring

This. Same as with most 90-minute college comedies, you only have so much time to cover your main story. No point in wasting it on majors not relevant to the two main leads' conflict.
>>
>>154237825
>only offers two prograns
We see three majors onscreen: can design, scaring, and door design, with computer science and dance being mentioned as majors as well. In addition, they outright say the school offers a variety of majors, but just like with real universities the school has one particular program that it's well known for. Monstere University functions as a proper college with a large selection of majors, we just don't see them because they aren't relevant

NTA but no, it was a lot less eventful. Covid really didn't help with that

disagree. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdNGOM82vO8

first two acts were ok in my opinion
>>
>>154244307
Yeah it’s a weak idea to justify the premise of the scaring lessons.
>>
>>154241332
This scene always makes me chuckle
>>
>>154237825
They have multiple buildings so they probably went to mostly places with scare classes while non-major shit like history and math was not really something that needed to be shown just like how Mike wasn't constantly talking about needing to schedule around his college job that he also had to pay for school

I'm still of the belief the Monsters Inc sequel series should've gone with a 2D rigged look if they knew Disney couldn't afford Pixar-level animation
>>
Transfer portal has really ruined college football. How are smaller programs supposed to succeed when Monster University can poach their star players every off-season?
