how were there wave breaks and beaches if it's underwater?
>>154243194The water in Goo Lagoon is denser than the surrounding water from sodium concentration.
>>154243194There is water at the bottom of the ocean.
HE RIPPED HIS PANTS. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>154243364REMOVE IT REMOVE IT
>>154243194There are. They just happen to be really toxic. In a real life one Spongebob and friends would be pickled alive.
>>154243194>Goo>>LagoonIt's in the name OP. It's goo.
>>154243194Well, two things. There are "bodies of water" under the ocean so to speak, like others pointed out. It's brine, water with salinity at least three times, but often more, than that of the ocean water surrounding it. That difference in sodium levels makes it so the normal ocean water and the brine can't mix together that well which leads to brine pooling in cracks and crevices in the ocean floor, giving them their characteristic "undersea lake" appearance. Stephen Hillenberg was an accomplished marine biologist so that was an intentional reference to real science. As for the waves and surfing? It's a cartoon. It's fun.
>>154243194Brime pools
>>154243572To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand SpongeBob SquarePants
>>154243194Its goo
>>154244712I'd argue SpongeBob is a smarter show than Rick and Morty
>>154243618Error! What is this "fun" you speak of, hyoo-mon creature?
>>154243544>>154243364Somehow, it always comes back to Talking Heads…
>>154243618I don't know why I never bothered to look up images of it. Very neat.
>>154243557Ocean water is toxic to humans but people swim in it just fine all the time. Just don't drink it.
>>154245020I'll be honest, these brine pools kill crabs and stuff pretty much immediately after they walk in.
SPONGEBOBLOOK OUT FOR THAT TREE
>>154243572According to Wikipedia a goo lagoon is a brine pool where salt content is heavier than the surrounding area.
>>154244744It unironically is if you consider the target group. I really loved the first three seasons - afterwards it become really braindead. The german sync is also very very kino and sometimes the translation is better than the original. In the episode 'Squidward on strike' there is a speach where Squidward quotes the communist manifesto to start a complicated rant using marxist dialectics quoting Berthold Brecht after being overrun (first comes food, then moral - erst kommt das Fressen, dann die Moral) in the german version. This one is great too roasting a infamous quote from Chancellor Helmut Kohl but I dont know what Patrick says in englishhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CzbP11WeIfo&pp=ygUsc3BvbmdlYm9iIHNjaHdhbW1rb3BmIG15c3RlcmnDtnMgdW5kIGtvbXBsZXg%3D
>>154244962So are there creatures living in this?Is there an even denser pool of highly concentrated saline water inside of that?Does that pool of even more have an even more dense pool of saline water? Is there a never-ending chain of brackish, undersea ponds with their own even more brackish undersea ponds?
>>154243194Why is Spongebob wearing underwear under his swimming trunks?
>>154244744Rick & Morty is just Futurama for people who think they're smart.
