I've noticed that, as time passes on, I find the "good movie/bad movie" dichotomy less important than the "interesting movie/uninteresting movie" one. More and more often, I find myself more stimulated by a film that fails on it's own and intriguing terms than by one that half-delivers in the most boring and safe way possible. I feel more alive watching, let's say, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants than The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which is technically better but it interests me a thousand times less.

>>154245137Exactly, and the CG at least made sense in Out of Water since... as the title implies, they're only CG once they're OUT OF WATER. Search for SquarePants seems to slightly rehash Out of Water with the main villain being live action, which I felt was weak. (With an even weaker twist, since The Flying Dutchman obviously had selfiish intent.) Not only that, but having SpongeBob forcibly say he wants to be a "big guy" made me wish I was watching the first film instead, as that basically had the same MC motivation. (Just without the horrible [c]rap song tacked onto it.)
God, what a terrible and awful movie.
That is true overall, being able to discuss a idea is much better than if it was forgettable. I mean you will get some enjoyment from something good but forgettable, but culture is from things that stand the test of time for good and bad reasons.
This movie is stressful and annoying to watch.
The characters in The Day The Earth Blew Up don't awake empathy and lacks any real charm.
This is just a festival of poop, pee jokes and tasteless humor in general, and nothing more beyond that.
