>>154254044Tom DeFalco was a Marvel writer in the 80's who became EIC by the tail end of it. Wrote FF, Spider-Man when he got the black costume, and Thor. He then resigned as EIC (don't know if he left or went freelance), then he came back and created MC2 (Spider-Girl's universe) and created Mayday Parker, aka Spider-Girl, Peter's daughter if Norman didn't kidnap her at the end of the Clone Saga.

The general premise is just that the Marvel universe aged in real time (hence the mention of Spidey disappearing in 1973 specifically), and the F4 annual Earth-98 is from came out 35 years after the universe “began” with F4 #1. The annual’s 32 years old now, so it’d be cool to revisit it in another 3 years. All the old heroes (who aren’t the immortals pictured in the page I shared) would be dead by then, but if anything that’d just give Marvel another excuse to shill its legacies.
