The Lantern Corps were the reason Green Lantern became semi-mainstream for a while.Once Johns left and the GL stoppes focusing on them, most people stopped caring.You always hear how they "ruined" Green Lantern, but everyone who says that hasn't read Green Lantern since they were relevant, and like I said, they really haven't been that relevant since Johns left.The only ones who remained somewhat relevant are the Yellows because of Sinestro, and sometimes you'll see a Red one if you're lucky, but that's it, all the other ones don't really do much.

The problem with the color corps is that we don't get anything beside "Here's another green lantern" time and time again.Whoever decides to write GL always just adds another GL to make a mix up. Jo is stupid, kid Kanter is stupid, that Asian kid who was given a Chinese lantern was stupid.The easiest and best thing a writer could do that would drum up more interest is give warth another color of lantern. Blue Lantern would even be the best option. A more humanitarian Lantern who goes around healing and doing disaster relief. Sure, it's still not as great as the best araki can do. But i still regard it in a good place. Hell, as a whole, Jhon's run does feel like a fighting shonen at times. With the way the arcs are structured (Rebirth, Siniestro Corps, Other Lanterns, Blackest Night/Brightest Day, Third Army, First Lantern).
