just got back from the kinoplex. goy story 5 is simply okay. the parts of the movie that were fully focused on the toys were enjoyable. what wasn't enjoyable was some sort of mandate that at least 90% of the human characters be minorities even if it doesn't make sense. why were the new owners of the house jessie's previous owner lived in black for instance? since when do black people have houses out in the country with a ranch and farm animals? aside from the very forced diversity mandate the movie had no real message but it did have some sentimental and enjoyable moments. maybe like a 5/10.

holy FUCK this was probably the most boring movie ive seen in recent memory. the only part that stood out to me was the lunchbox scene, but the themes of how the things we care about shape us as people came out of nowhere and then left just as quickly. they could have had a good message if that was the foundation of the movie but instead it was just 90 minutes of the most bland point a to point b to point c story. im so glad i didnt pay for this shit

Just came back from watching Toy Story 5 and I thought it was cute. Felt like a middle movie, if that makes any sense. Like, not too high stakes, just enough stakes to get you drawn in. Will say I was surprised by some things.
