>gravity falls and the secret saturdays both were shows about weird folklore and cryptids but refused to do a bigfoot episode because it would be "too obvious"How absolutely fucking retarded of them both for ignoring sasquatch like this. If anything doing a bigfoot episode mightve made secret saturdays more popular and id love to see dipper and mabel go up against a geek. I wish more cartoons would include bigfoot still but he was in alot more shows in the 90s and 2000s but alot less in the 2010s onwards for some reason.
You've never been to the Pacific Northwest lately, have you?Bigfoot is oversaturated and overly commercialized. I now associate it with shitty local pot shops and wood carvings than mystery or adventure.
>>154254443That just sounds like a good point for a plot to start. Stan tries to play a hoax to drum up business so he can move some old Bigfoot merch and in the process attracts the real thing.
>>154254491I prefer how Gravity Falls did handle Bigfoot with a blink and you'll miss it cameo in the intro. Bigfoot should be treated with gravitas and mystery. He isn't suitable for any monster-of-the-week bullshit, he's THE cryptid.
should've done an episode specifically for composite Bigfoot where all myths and theories about Bigfoot are true
The last interesting bigfoot story was in SCP where they ruled the world with tyranid biotechnology until humans pulled a reverse-planet of the apes
if he real
Growing up is realizing most cryptids aren't real, and are overblown for tourist revenue. When I became aware of this it broke me the same way a child breaks realizing Santa isn't real.
Obviously you save it for the movie feature.
>>154254364Bigfoot is fake and gay, why would they do a show about it?
>>154254691>he hasn't progressed into high strangenessngmi
>>154254364Bigfoot isn't that crazy.. just a forest ape, just wants to chill and be left alonenow sasCROTCH, that was inspired
>>154254553Which was also a... what was that story, where cats used to be huge and rule the world, but one day humans all dreamed the same dream and we ended up on topand the little cat is like "i'll get all the cats to dream the same dream and be on top again" and the old cat is like "kek, you can't get two or three cats to agree on anything">>154254691I mean it's probably extinct, but I have zero reason to doubt the natives' story about such a simple animal.and when it comes to like, lake monsters, obviously probably not real. but there's no issue with sea monsters, loch monsters, anything that has access to the ocean is beyond undisprovable.
>>154254624Thats his floridian cousin,Stinky Fred
>the guy who discovered the first highly publicized bigfoot tracks was found to be a hoaxer years later>patterson film may also be a hoaxHow do people keep seeing bigfoot when it seems that the origin of the myth faked it all? Is bigfoot a tulpa? Genuine question
>>154255399i mean that happens a lot. The first archaeopteryx fossil was found to be a fake, but that was AFTER 3-4 more had been found and proven genuine. Sometimes (and I used to think this about the moon landing until the 'it looks like they didnt go anywhere' aspect of the footage was explained by the lack of atmosphere), you do something for real, but you left the lens cap on or you broke it, so then you fake it, and you feel okay faking it since there WAS a real one, so it's only fair.I see no reason to think there aren't or weren't big north american apes wandering around the PNW. People get really fucking egotistical about "Oh i KNOW exactly where animals are or aren't." Like, the fuck you do. You don't know fuckin squat.Patterson film had me convinced due to several really key anatomical aspects, but once I saw the unjittered footage, suddenly I could see the seams in the suit, and I believe now there were hand-extenders in use..
>>154255399It all comes to sasquatchCenturies of injun legends of hairy men walking on two legs distinct from their tribe and other tribesI think sasquatch and big foot are now dead coloies of wildmen who were far less civilised that injun tribes.cave man levelBut by now they are extinct, they probably went extinct around same time first settlers came or before thatDuring wild west era and before there were cases of people from failed settlements devolving in the woods into something more primitiveNone of this explains the yeti.
>>154254759Tbh yeah that's something that bugged me about Sasquatch types like Bigfoot when i turned 19, i went to a zoo and got obsessed with Gorillas and i came to the realization that Bigfoot would just be a giant ape that's bigger and stronger and walks upright. I'd understand "missing link" types to be interested in it but really if Bigfoot did exist it would just be like a Grizzly Gorilla that lives in the American woods. It's just not as interesting as dinosaurs, a plesiosaur, aliens and a gorilla/orangutan that lives in the himalayas.
>>154255457>During wild west era and before there were cases of people from failed settlements devolving in the woods into something more primitiveI want to hear more about thisAlso the Si Te Cah tribe are a very interesting topic. Red haired white giants the natives hunted down.
>>154256034The red hair they found turned out to be mammoth, whose brown hair oxidised when preserved but not decayed.
After seeing some videos I’m convinced that they exist
what's fucked up is that Bigfoot is real and it's true nature is stranger than you thinkmost people think he's some missing link, an undiscovered primate species, maybe even an actual race of humans. The more fringe might claim he's an alien or some bullshit.in reality he's closer to something like a gnome or a fae being
>>154256983No
>>154255450>i mean that happens a lot. The first archaeopteryx fossil was found to be a fake, but that was AFTER 3-4 more had been found and proven genuine. Really? I had no idea. Thanks anon that actually makes me feel alot better. >>154256034>picI love that storyteller episode>>154256983>in reality he's closer to something like a gnome or a fae beingI subscribe to this train of thought a bit too. If bigfoot was a flesh and blood creature we wouldve found bones by now
>>154254624Im not real
>>154254364Gravity Falls fair but didn't the Secret Saturdays literally have a bigfoot like creature as part of the main cast? Also I remember the main villain turned out to be a yeti.
>>154254364It could be worse. They could've done him as a goofy joke character like Onyx Monster Mysteries. Just finished Abominable and the invisible city and they did pretty much the same thing with the Yeren.
>>154254364Ever since i was an edgy teen ive had a movie idea where jason ends up fighting bigfoot near the climax.
>>154254364>I wish more cartoons would include bigfoot still but he was in alot more shows in the 90s and 2000sI wished that they could take notes from Mighty Max. I even remember watching this episode where this yeti jumps on Skullmaster and was about to rape him to death.
Bigfoot is fake.Sheepsquatch however, is the real deal.
>>154254364Cryptids are millennial cringe.
>>154257910>Final scene of Jason chasing a half naked teen through the woods>Kh kh ma ma ma>Suddenly gets bodied by an enormous arm covered in red hairAmazing.
>>154254691Pretty much. Bigfoot stops making sense when you think about it for more than three seconds. If there really were 9 foot tall prehistoric monkey men living in North American forests, there would be tons of evidence all over the place. Bigfoot feces, fresh Bigfoot tracks leading to our dens, Bigfoot skeletons and corpses... plus, you'd think with all the outdoorsmen, hunters, and /k/fags running around the forests that we'd have more than blurry photos and vague videos to go off of.
>>154260837There is only one though.
>>154254364Didnt the saturdays have a pet that was just big foot?
>>154254691You were one of those cryptid obsessed kids, weren't you?
>>154261081Nta but i was a cryptid obsessed kid and had a similar feeling as >>154254691 when i realized most supernatural stuff is probably fake. I genuinely have felt more suicidal after accepting that grim fact within the last couple of years. If the world really is devoid of cool monsters and aliens it really just boring and worthless and so is existence itself.
>>154256927share them
>>154254533>BIGFOOT LIVES INSIDE OUR HEARTS
>>154262319Seconding
>>154260584No, faggot
>>154263030unc ahh response
>>154254691Santa basically is a cryptid when you think about it.
>>154263385Yeah, and ?>>154260837people claim to have found all those things. North American great apes might exist. Utilization and consumption of corpses for food and resources has been documented in great apes.
>>154256983If bigfoot was real thatd be the coolest thing ever, especially if he was just a really large really hairy gnome
What about Lady Bigfoot Detective?
>>154254364They were right, bigfoot stories are cursed in animation. Someone will figure it out eventually. I think Chris Savino had a Bigfoot comic optioned a few years ago.
>>154254691>>154256983Even if Bigfoot was real, the most famous footage came out sixty years ago. He's probably died of old age by now, I don't think anyone cares about the 'real' Bigfoot.
>>154256983This is why we don’t have photos of course. He’s perceived using ESP
>>154265153>I think Chris Savino had a Bigfoot comic optioned a few years ago.Wait really? Post an image of it plz
>>154260837There are a lot of people who claim to have found stuff but no one cares. Even if they were out there, the image people have about them is so warped and tainted that people wouldn't believe until they saw one in a zoo or something. And even then I bet a lot wouldn't believe anyway.
>>154265235That footage was recently confirmed fake btw
>>154265362The footage has been 'confirmed fake' every five years since it came out!
>>154265615I wanna rape that elf
>>154265322I was mistaken. The comic is called Bigfoot and Gray. Google says it has books published in 2019 and there was a hybrid live action reel made in 2013, so he was trying to get it made for a while. But, one of the top search results is a 2023 FB post from Savino sharing the pitch doc, saying he went ahead with the books after it wasn’t picked up. I think that post is what I remembered seeing, I didn’t know about all the work on it he already put out. It’s a cute comic.
>>154254364Clearly Big Sasquatch is trying to bury the truth.
>>154265362yeah people keep saying this and I've yet to see the alleged evidence
>>154265841Big Foot
>>154265627People have been wanting to 'rape that elf' every five days since it came out!
>>154265153>that time in like 2025 when people were obsessed with the bullies from Son of Bigfoot because they were such stereotypes
>>154260837>leading to our dens>our
>>154255399>MayThey literally told people 'we're going to film bigfoot' and then both of them went up into the forest and magically found bigfoot, on camera, like they said they would
>>154255457By that logic, oni are also big hairy primitive men that japanese came across. that explains the yeti just fine.>>154256019yeah like leave him alone, he just wants to walk through blurry forest areas.>>154257774I bring it up every time a bizarre new dino fossil comes out of china, and my friend rightfully says you cannot trust anything China says (something like 90% of all new fossil discoveries are from China). I'm like yeah, but even a fake doesn't mean there can't also be a real one. and I want dragon-winged dinos to be real, so
>>154265153It's funny I used to think Harry was ugly, now this has shown me what ugly truly is
>>154254624https://youtube.com/watch?v=xb9YcIlkl_cNo joke, this is some of the most convincing footage of a Sasquatch out thereA guy in a suit can’t rip the bark off trees like that. And when the fucker stands up straight at the end that’s not a black bear, shit is terrifying
>>154268751Convincing, but what makes it hard for me to believe is that it let the guy get that close. Unless it was too invested in whatever it was doing to that tree to care.
>>154268751That very well could be real. But like others have said ITT if bigfoot is real hes supernatural most likely because a flesh and blood creature that big cant evade capture like bigfoot has. Maybe it phases in and out of our dimension sorta like the creatures from the mist or dr manhattan when hes trying to reconstitute himself after the accident
>>154268844I live in a rural place and I don’t think the birds or squirrels, possums etc. care that much about you being there until you get too close at which point they fly/scurry away.>>154268895The Bigfoot portal stuff seems like well poisoning to me, although there’s a very interesting account I read once where a guy was hiking through a mountain trail and his surroundings suddenly changed into a thick jungle-like growth.Remember that gorillas were not officially confirmed by science to exist until the early twentieth century. Before that they were mythical creatures.
>>154265153Bigfoot works better in horror like Department of Truth.
One of my most vivid nightmares I have ever had was going on a camping trip with my mother and getting attacked by an army of Bigfoot. Like a full on standard zombie apocalypse in terms of numbers but with Bigfoot, they had all just been hiding unil something aggravated them and they started attacking humanity. I remember locking ourselves in a car and about 3 Bigfoot clawing and shaking it until one walked over and picked up a rock and started smashing the windshield.
>>154270047You're not wrong. SCP-1000 kinda ruined the idea of Bigfoot for me, to be honest. It's such a fantastic concept, that any other interpretation of Bigfoot just doesn't do it for me.
>>154262319>>154263016https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xb9YcIlkl_c&pp=ygUPc2t1bmsgYXBlIHZpZGVv0gcJCT8LAYcqIYzv
>>154254364Wasn't Argost secretly Bigfoot?
>>154270534Oh, I was talking to a friend about SCP-1000 recently, and how it's absolutely made worse by the fact that they stopped using the iconic Bigfoot picture for it. The fact that you see that picture and immedietly laugh at it is half the point of the article.
