A big fan of the art style in book 3 and 4. It keeps the detail and level of grittyness which adds to the general vibe of the series (at least before Colfer got bored and decided to make every other sentence about how unenvironmental humans are) but the updated character designs and facial expressions are probably the best we will ever get.

Thanks OP. Very nostalgic going through these, never seen them before but I grew up with the books. One thing I wondered about as I was reading, when Root and Holly fall into Opal's trap and that whole bit where Root explodes and Holly is set up, you'd think Root would just say exactly what is happening at Holly's camera. Foaly would lip read it and that would be that. You might think there wasn't enough time to come up with it, but characters just come up with life saving ideas in a split second several times in this series.

I think I realised the problem thats been the back of my mind about this version of Mulch. I like the animalistic directions because really I think depicting all the dwarf biological functions like the unhinging jaw or suction pores on a more human figure would be uncanny, and in general I think it is neat depicting the fairies as more inhuman. But my main problem is just how clean Mulch looks when in the books it is constantly described how he is practically always covered in a layer of dirt and filth. I guess also the rabbit features push him into looking a bit too cute weirdly. I grew up listening to the audiobooks alongside reading and I have a hard time imagining the deep voice he has in those coming out of him.
