Artstyle could be better.
I don't have anything to say because i'm not a 40 year old man who grew up with He-Man.

Teela and Evil-Lyn don't appear to be wearing pants. I guess that's something.

I think it looks kinda neat..

Anyone who grew up with the Filmation cartoon is closer to 50.

Would it kill them to just make a straight action cartoon for once?
>>
>>154262587
I was born in September 1982 and watched the Filmation cartoons. I was also lucky enough to have a huge collection despite my parents being lower middle class because Mattel pressured stores to over-order so much that figures were marked down to $3 each by the Christmas shopping season.
The real sign of being in his 50s is when a dude complains about Prince Adam existing, because he got his He-Man figure before the Filmation cartoon started.
>>
>>154262442
The Tales from Eternia cartoon is directly aimed at new fans who discovered Masters of the Universe via the movie, so Duncan looks like he did in the movie.
>>
This franchise is all but officially dead now. The movie was the last hope and it's on it's way to being a legendary bomb already.
>>
>>154262797
It still got relatively good reception, it wasn't a complete failure.
>>
>>154262819
Reception doesn't count for much when only a handful of people saw it to even stick on the franchise afterwords.
>>
>>154262780
>is directly aimed at new fans who discovered Masters of the Universe via the movie
>new fans

I can almost guarantee that the movie generated little to no new fans given how badly it flopped and how directly it was aimed at fans of the original cartoon and only that. My two friends and I are in our 30s and were some of the youngest people in the theatre. In fact, there was weirdly more kids at the screening of Mortal Kombat 2 (most with their dads) than at MOTU

If he was based, he wouldn't play race-swapped characters.
>>
>>154262826
I've definitely seen a somewhat renewed in the franchise thanks to the movie, many young people seem to be checking out the old show because of it.
Again, it's not some massive super success like Barbie, but it at least helped create some interest on the franchise, so it succeeded in that at least.
>>
>>154262819
>relatively good reception

Fans of the 80s cartoon seemed mostly positive but a bunch of older guys nostalgic for one specific incarnation of an IP isn't enough these days. Transformers and TMNT managed to (successfully) reinvent themselves and gain popularity with subsequent generations, but He-Man never did. The 200X and CGI shows tried but didn't do well enough, the Netflix show was mostly aimed at older fans, and so was the movie.

There has for sure been a renewed spike in interest but it's a spike. If word of mouth was positive enough it could have bounced back from its opening weekend flop but instead it crashed further.

>>154262936
>Fans of the 80s cartoon
Again, I was talking about the handful of young people who are giving it a chance.

Uh, I'm not sure if this new He-Man show would fare any better than the latest movie or previous shows, but at least Mattel hasn't given up on the IP yet.

Damn, I turn 49 later this year…
>>
>>154263148
Have you never watched the BBC? They got some good shows.
>>
>>154262375
Nothing really. But I'm willing to give it a try. The CG Netflix show was a fantastic take on the universe and I came in to it not expecting anything. I'm hoping maybe this will surprise as well.
>>
>>154262375
Why make this when the movie flopped?
>>
>>154266061
Even if it flopped, it seemed to get a relatively positive reaction, so it proved people can still like He-Man.
Also, this has probably been in the works for a while, so it was going to come out either way.
