I also like that Caine's realisation more so is about him getting further information and clarity and seeing the lives of the people he has, and understanding that they HAVE lives, that they ARE people.Like I said earlier I'd give it a 7/10, some sections were 8s or 9s, and others were 4s due to no real explanation given to said scenes. But it rounds out to an enjoyable film for what I'd consider the "important" parts.

After rewatching the ending I feel the biggest misstep for goose was ending on a happy note. bittersweet endings only really work if it ends on the sad part because of how fleeting positive emotions are and because people tend to linger on the sad ones. i don't know if reversing the order of events to Caines redemption then Jax's abstraction would work for the story but you could end on Jax's funeral weird we didn't get to see it.
