Yesterday a young Spider-Man went on a trip to Peru and fought Sneople, and Thanos got rug pulled>previous threadshttps://pastebin.com/iHCKvsnK
>>154280600Oh boy I can't wait for my handful of Spidey pages!
Monster Island, what a wacky remnant of Marvel's Godzilla license
This reminds me of the time when, was it one of the other Infinity stories, when the Avengers mansion got thrown into nothing and they had to contend with losing oxygen?
>>154281745>>154281807Interesting trend.
>>154281298Marvel's Monster Island is from Fantastic Four #1, as the surface entrance to the Mole Man's realm and pre-dates the one from Godzilla movies.
>>154281124Has Peter actually met Genis before this? I don't remember seeing him
>>154281236Is this Starlin's way of writing off every Thanos appearance he didn't like as not being the "real" Thanos? Kinda like what Byrne(?) did with Doombots
>>154282922It's specifically Starlin trying to retcon away most of the Thanos stories after both he and Marz had left the cosmic books in the 90s. Specifically it's Waid's Ka-Zar run (and a Hulk/X-Man team-up annual that Starlin doesn't mention here), then Jurgens' Thor, in a story running through to #25 that was actually fairly well-liked at the time, and then Englehart's Avengers: Celestial Quest. Possibly more for those stories treating Thanos as 100% villain than just for him losing.
Everyone's got some kind of sense
>>154282154I know exactly what you're talking about, it was an Avengers story with Nebula. Spider-Man joined the Avengers for about 30 minutes before he got fired/quit
>>154283107>Spider-Man joined the Avengers for about 30 minutes before he got fired/quitIIRC he just took reservist status on the team, which became the standard deal anyone who teamed up with the Avengers seemed to get from the mid 70s through to the early 90s.
>>154283007Avengers Forever really was a clusterfuck
>>154283200It was more of a "this shit is above my paygrade, someone's gotta handle the Kingpins of the world" kinda deal, with Cap agreeing. He became a reservist a bit after that as a separate thing when Sandman joined up
RIP
>>154283480Peter's around a lot but he hasn't actually done much outside of fight mooks
Strange should be paste, right?
>we're gonna have to do this one sober, Pip
It's a fairly lean cast for this scale of mess
Our boy's a little out of his depth
>>154284124Outside of marketing I still don't know why he's here. He hasn't really done anything
>>154284286Well that's something at least, I guess
Alright, the end!Sorry that took so long, it's bee a busy few days over on the discordNO STORYTIME TOMORROWBut when we come back we're returning to Spider-Man's Tangled Web
>>154284512Thanks for storytiming, Magister!
>>154284512Thanks Magister. It's a shame Spider-Man's not more involved in JLA/Avengers, that was a fun crossover
>>154284566Losing readcomicsonline has been a real blow to how I vet these minor appearancesIt's a gamble on whether I waste our times or if a minor appearance still happens in an enjoyable story
>>154284640That's fair. RCO is back though right? Works for me at least
>>154283863>>154283877>It's another ThanosWank story by StarlinThis guy can only do one kind of story. Also, even when he isn't here, Galactus is again jobbing. It's quite sad.
>>154284512thanks OP
>>154284890Oh cool it is backThanks
>>154285377No problemo. For what it's worth though Spidey is probably only on two or three pages throughout the entirety of JLA/Avengers, so it makes sense to skip it for this storytime
>>154284512Thanks magister
>>154284286Gonna put some dirt in your eye
>>154281788daaaamn, he SMOKED her
>>154285429But it is cool though.
