MARVEL HAD A MELTY AMD REPLACED JRJR’S ASM 1000 COVER!!!
BAHAHAHAHA
>>
>>154282170
both are shit for the 1000 cover
>>
>>154282170
That's not even the worst upcoming JR Jr cover though?
>>
>>154282244
comic covers have been dogshit for decades
>>
>>154282170
For what purpose? What did he do?
>>
>>154282170
context nigga
>>
>>154282170
One on the left looks like what happens when you cut a movie poster in half then mirror it
>>
>>154282170
why does the left one look like he's shrugging?

eh?
>>
>>154282170
Both look like shit lol
>>
>>154282341
OK, but his Avengers girls cover for the Marvel Swimsuit book is much worse than that Spidey cover, and he was totally the wrong artist for that that assignment. In theory, he is at least a suitable artist for the cover of 'big numbers Spider-Man issue that's probably just another nothingburger', prior to his modern decline.

OP Forgot to add that JRJR is also no longer going to draw for ASM. He's done done
>>
>>154284254
So what are the chances he goes back to DC
>>
>>154282170
To be fair, Romita should have done better for an issue #1000 cover and what is likely his final cover ever for the title.
>>
>>154284356
HEY JOHN
REMEMBER WHEN MARVEL HAD AN ENTIRE DIVISION DEVOTED TO CORRECTING SHIT ART
REMEMBER WHO RAN IT
YOUR DAD

oh fuck that's a good one

Anyone white in that company?

Spider-man should have a gender bender arc.
>>
>>154284254
Swords of Damocles for all the old heads swinging ever lower.
May they drop and we finally get the change we needed two decades ago. Arguably three.
>>
>>154282170
The art in western comics has generally never been acceptable compared to manga. If they're going to start caring about people half-assing it all of the sudden then they gotta fire A LOT more artists.
>>
>>154284457
It was called Romita's Raiders and they inspected incoming boards
You know who was in charge of calling late artists to make sure those boards came in on time
His wife Virginia
>>
>>154282761
I mean, It is.
That pose is just silly.
>>
>>154284556
No. Cheap foreign labor to save money and not look rascist.
>>
>>154282170
>>154282491
It looks like he's shooting webs with his feet. Like it's obviously his arms, but his arms feel like feet and his feet feel like arms. It's a very bizarre image lmfao. Like if you took a torso flipped it upsize down and stuck a head between the ass or something.
>>
>>154284802
This is why nepotism hires are almost always bad
>>
>>154282170
The style on the left is better, and the pose is goofy in an uncool way.
The one on the right isn't goofy, but it's overall generic.
>>
>>154282170
Both of those covers are Amazing Spider-Man #973 worthy

Larraz cover sucks too. They should give JSC a cover like he did for #500 but they don't have the balls to have Pete and MJ be on a cover together
>>
>>154285399
Editorial are allergic to anything fans want, please understand it's a very threatening condition.
>>
>>154285393
Feels like the midsections need to be swapped
>>
>>154282170
I mean, it's an improvement. Romita's been half-assing it on spider-man for a while now. Marvel should have stopped relying on his name before it came to this.

>>154284635
Ultimate Jessica was basically that. Bendis will be forever a faggot for not making Johnny/Jessica canon.

That one did suck, but the one on the right isn't great either. There's like 25 variant covers, surely there's a better one. I haven't seen the Ditko cover yet, but maybe just using it would make sense
>>
>>154282170
I aint buying it anyway, employ Fat Slobb, lose my money. Would have tried to buy all variants if he was not involved.

The Artgerm one isn't bad
>>154286634
I never cared enough to know much about him other than his art is often not very good. I mean, just look at it anon >>154286613
>>
>>154286634
his art is not great but the hate is overblown
>>
>>154282170
It's trash and what they replaced it with isn't much better. Does Marvel not understand the importance of repeating integers and its magical qualities?
>>
>>154286613
man, the hatching on Shulkie's arms just make them look hairy. Isn't John Byrne still drawing? I bet he'd have done a much better job than this. They all just look so unappealing!
>>
>>154286717
i feel he has degenerated just a bit, and honestly he could retire.

but damn, he is one of the seminal spidey artists and deserves the place on the celebration.
>>
>>154285221

Which one do you think? There's only one Fat Slobb in Marvel so butthurt by Peter making fat jokes against a fat slob in the comics that he made that fat slob swap brains with Peter to self insert into the fattie.
>>
>>154287031
They really did
>>
>>154282761
>Basically tiktok and twitter thought the cover was super ugly
Isn't it though? If you told me they used AI to make it i'd believe you.
>>
>>154286613
those legs lol. Also scarlet witch looks like starfire cosplaying
>>
>>154282170
just make a PeterFel cover and profit like crazy.
>>
>>154282170
Right kinda looks like a trace of that one Mexican birthday spiderman gif.
>>
>>154282170
I dunno what the problem is. They hired JRJR, so they had to know it was going to be a shit cover. Dude's been crap for so long now.
>>
>>154286888
JRJR has never been told to his face that his hatching is fucking disgusting and he needs to go back to art school
Byrne, a poorly controlled type 1 diabetic, has severe cataracts which is why he hasn't drawn in years and refuses to attend conventions
>>
>>154282684
>>154282718
no match for my man NAMAN
>>
>>154285393
No, amazing
>>
>>154282170
They're both shit.
Also, I realized something. I don't read Spider-Man and they've found a way for me and other non-readers to talk about it. I wonder how may similar ploys aside from cover controversy and the usual tricks they generate that I don't realize.
>>154284791
Japan is better at working with less, but this is a naive view of things.
>>154286052
You could post pages from popular recent manga like Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen instead of posting the same old shit.
>>
>>154288848
Didn't Byrne recently draw a Marvel Arts comic?
>>
Didn't JRJR have a stroke a few years ago, and did it affect his art because his right hand was recovering from it for too long? Or am I thinking of another boomer artist? Also, no matter what, I will never hate JRJR, because of The Man Without Fear and the best parts of JMS's ASM run, it's probably in my top 3 favorite Spidey runs of all time, even despite stuff like The Other or Sins Past.
>>
>>154289579
>Also, I realized something. I don't read Spider-Man and they've found a way for me and other non-readers to talk about it. I wonder how may similar ploys aside from cover controversy and the usual tricks they generate that I don't realize.
All people do is talk about how much it sucks anon, generating talk doesn't mean shit when people are barely buying their shit anymore. Readers like me who would have spent some money if they actually did things properly won't buy shit. And retards who they are trying to attract would just read this shit off some website
>>
>>154289946
I don't think it's that simple. I'm now talking about a comic I don't buy and have never bought, and this talk is making me more aware of the history of the comic. It may convince me, were I someone else, to buy a new trade of an old run. This news has now drawn money from me.
I think the best course of action is cut out conversation of Marvel in any light. Make that search history downtrend. They deserve oblivion if they're not going to make good product.
>>
>>154285393
I have the feeling Naman has ultra instinct
>>
>>154282209
both are shit

I don't know what "had a melty" means but that cover needed replacing, it looked like shit.
>>
>>154282170
lmao, the one on the left is so damn goofy. I like the coloring on the one on the right though

With respect to views = money anon, Brevoorts enrage to engage strategy means nothing when a young guy who has never heard of Spider-Man is a few clicks away from the entire lexicon for free.
The only possible why for art to make money these days reliably is love and appreciation from fans who want to support, and Marvel Editorial is a big, fat and incredibly rotten albatross to wear for any lover.

If engagement and social media attention equalled dollars, the SECOND attempt of a Morbius cinematic release would have made money. it was a catastrophe. Best thing to be said about the attention is that it gets unrelated anons like >>154290190 to talk comics and comic history, that's good. And it also doesn't monetarily reward the idiots letting DC eat their market share. That's also good.
>>
>>154290882
>Brevoorts enrage to engage strategy means nothing when a young guy who has never heard of Spider-Man is a few clicks away from the entire lexicon for free.
Didn't Slott manage some level of success with this via Superior selling at the top for a bit?
>>
>>154290613
We have a lot of Old-Heads and Slott acting like just because someone was seminal in the past, they are owed to lead in a milestone issue regardless of their current work quality.

I concur to a point that agreeing to do the work, letting the artist see the backlash and then not supporting them through it is scummy, however this should never have made it to print. Someone higher up in office HELLO LOWE should have looked at this piece with the legal objective 'reasonable persons' test and said this is terrible, try again or thank you and here's payment for your time we're going a different direction.

Right now they have gotten their face hit by both rakes. Oh and not paying their inkers.
>>
The JRJR cover is wonderful, you fags have zero taste

If it can't be that, then just make it pic related, it's likely the most iconic Spider-Man image of all time
>>
>>154290893
With ever diminishing returns.
This strategy has been criticized time and time again that anger can't be sustained and breeds apathy. Now the old-head fans are apathetic to purchase trades, normies and potential new fans have no reason to love and no engagement beyond laughing at a secret cousin reveal on X and moving on, let alone get passionate and purchase anything.
