A lot of the things I found grating in the movie were actually kinda charming in TBGO, like Smidge, and it made me enjoy the movie more. I don't care much either way for TT, I only watched it for the lore.The forced affection for Cloud Guy was one of the worst parts of the shows though. I guess I can buy Poppy taking Cloud Guy at his word about "making Branch a better troll" by terrorizing him since she's too trusting and sees good in people who don't deserve it, but it feels wrong how she's fine with Cloud Guy physically hurting Branch beyond mildly annoying pranks. In the movie, the point was that Branch's anger was not proportional with Cloud Guy's actions, he tried to kill him over a high five. But in the show, his angry reactions are completely justified and rational since the worst Branch does anymore is yell and Cloud Guy is a relentless stalker bully. Then again I'm looking at it from a human perspective and not a troll perspective.I was also disappointed when TT had an episode about Cloud Guy's other victims, since I expected each tribe to have a Branch equivalent. But they just reused the existing cast at random, totally defeating the point that Cloud Guy is just trying to help when he's targeting life-of-the-party trolls who already know how to have fun and have lots of friends they're open with. Laguna was the only one that kind of could make sense since she's a dry awkward nerd who works more than she parties, but that's still a far cry from being emotionally guarded and living in isolation for so long you need to learn how to function in society.Then they try to make him out to be an unaligned unhinged agent of chaos who does whatever he pleases out of boredom for funsies. So is he bullshitting and nothing he does has a deeper meaning or what?
