I did not find this moment funny.
>>
>>154298184
It was the incident that started the level system , right?
>>
>>154298427
Yes
>>
>>154298427
One would say it'd make sense to have a level system right out the gate but The Guild is comprised of Larpers who don't want to work 9 to 5's
>>
That shit was hilarious. Action Man woke him up on random nights with the same 1911s.
>*CLICK*
>"Not today, Rusty."
>>
>>154298665
Why was he terrorizing Rusty anyway? He was supposed to protect him but this implies that he will kill him one day.
>>
>>154298773
A lot of these sorts of jokes in this show seem to be just "he's an asshole"
>>
>>154298773
Everyone in this show is an insane asshole given more power than they should have

>>
>>154298184
It’s funny in a fucked up way but what’s actually happening isn’t really all that funny, it’s treated seriously to the point it created an entire level system.
Also explains why Rusty is such a fuckup kek
>>
>>154298773
Rusty lowered his guard, your squaddies frag you if they can consistently find where you sleep. It is an advanced lesson for his age, but he's a boy adventurer.
>>
I like when Rusty suffers

A theory
>>
>>154298184
The one of the best TV show ever. My only grip was the constant circumcision jokes. They seriously think it's normal.
>>154300081
Although I'm glad the show gotten a fair send off I wish there would've been a final conclusion with Jonas. You know they were building something with the OSI keeping his head.
>>
>>154298184
thanks for making this thread again. it was nice last time.

t. The Monarch
>>

yeah that's plausible.

>>
>>154301796
I fucking loved that bit when we got a classic 5-note scene transition musical sting but it was Monarch's face, and he was going THE-MIGH-TY-MON-ARCH!
>>
>>154298619
It was mostly clique based in the begining. If you knew a guy you were with/agaisnt them. You'd typically partner with a hero/villian for an adventure/arch and if it worked you could be a reoccurring figure, or you'd die.
Newbies not knowing anything or old heads not realizing they should hold back is common and is a contribution to the system for who goes to who
>>
>>154300195
I would hardly call a rushed out movie a fair send off
>>
>>154302222
that's what makes it fair, not great
>>
>>154298773
Epstein class personal are not people. They are psychopaths with private money benefactors and litigious lawyering.

It's better than the nothing we were going to get before.
Also, checked.

Jackson and public have gone on record saying the movie isn't necessarily the final conclusion of it all. But rather, just a good stopping point if they did have to leave the series behind.

They would love to make more of the show in a heartbeat and give it the rounded out finale it deserves, but they would need someone who liked the show as much as Mike Lazzo did.

Even if it had one more season, doing a kickstarter or the like, would still have some steep costs.
So there's a glimmer of hope, but it's slim, it already takes them literal years to finish something and Doc Hammer always seems like he's on the verge of death from something.

This may come as a surprise to you, anon, but not every scene in Venture Bros. was played strictly for laughs.
>>
>>154304417
Every time I hear about Doc he's always battling some sort of near life-ending disease and old age is catching on quick. I hope the two can give the series one last hurrah or even create something new together, but I'm glad with where the show ended even if it is a bit bittersweet.

>Every time I hear about Doc he's always battling some sort of near life-ending disease and old age is catching on quick
He's a turbovegan. But not for ideological reasons. He has difficulty eating normal human food.
>>
>>154298773
I took it as boomer style of preparing the toner generation without considering rusty was a kid.

"My bunk mates did it to me when I was a private so no reason why it would be bad for a kid!"
>>
>>154304417
The VAs are getting up there in age, too. You can hear Ratazzi struggling with Orpheus in the movie. If Season 8 ever arose, it’d probably be missing characters due to stuff like that.
>>
>>154305735
oh that is the worst. The one thing your body needs most when it can't handle most types of food is.. most types of food.

This show has such an expansive chronology! Shits insane fr
>>
>>154309978
yeah I recently binged the entire series for the first time (that is, first time rewatching since the movie came out) and, man.. the chronomolology.. it knows what it's doing.
>>

>Jonas was an island honorary
>Rusty still probably was sending messages like "What day/night will be the wildest party be on?" begging to join
>GUILD and OSI probably had plants there.
>>
you know what I didn't get? The whole thing with Bud Manstrong.
He's supposed to be clueless to Baldovitch's advances (and also to her ugliness, making them a perfect match) yet he's somehow not clueless to her getting lightly sweet on Brock, and then starts insinuating she already fucked him, somehow, in that short amount of time
he's clearly supposed to sometimes be a manchild but other times just seems like a man with a child's anger hormones
>>
You gotta give Turnbuckle credit for shit talking the man who practically beat him to death
>>
>>154312026
you dont get into villainy if you're the type to get hurt and just apologize
>>
>>154311355
I don't think he was clueless at all. If anything, he seemed extremely sexually repressed and had no idea how to take the next step with her. That's why he spent all his time passing notes, holding hands, and dancing around his feelings instead of actually making a move.

So when Brock showed up, Bud immediately recognized that he'd done what Bud himself never had the guts to do.
>>
>>154298853
It’s funny in a cosmic sort of way. The way it’s set up is like a very typical showdown between an a-lister superhero and some nobody throwaway villain of the week who pretty much folds in one punch, so the clinically detached manner in which the Monarch narrates everything post-mortem as a relatively harmless idiot gets pummeled like a pond of beef and then executed turns it from horrible to funny from the implication that despite Action Man’s notorious level of psychopathy in slaughtering men by the truckload, this one rando’s pointless death akin to a baby picking a fight with a windmill is still the major driving force for how the Guild operates.
>>
>>154312352
How does that work? How can you be repressed but also recognize that others are doing what you don't have the guts to do? It's not in your mind at all, right? It like doesn't even occur to you, that's not just part of repression, that's the majority of what repression is.

>Kiss my ass.
>>
>>154312373
I don't think he was repressed in the sense that he didn't understand his feelings. He was repressed in the sense that he had no idea how to act on them.

It's not like he doesn't know what sex is. The guy clearly knew he liked her. He spent the whole time trying to get close to her, passing notes, holding hands, etc. What he couldn't do was take the next step.
>>
>>154312465
Huh. I guess.
It just feels weird to me that a guy who just wants to hold hands would ever be psychologically capable of insinuating another man has "A huge mushroom down there" and asks if a smurf lives in it.

Contrast with Dean getting all weird hearing Triana describe elaborate and filthy sex acts, sort of being confronted with her being a more sexual being than he is.. he had zero way to articulate that. To me, that's how that works. I guess I've just never met the Manstrong type.

>>154312373
>>154312352
NTA but I think the right word in this situation would be frustrated, not repressed
>>
>>154312739
but what's holding him back? did he somehow think she wouldn't like him if he reciprocated? Because then I'd expect his reaction to be "why didnt you make it clearer like you did with Brock"
>>
>>154312739
The guy blacked out while getting a handjob in the Lincoln episode.
>>
>>154298619
It varies, but most of them have some form of obsession and aren't just larpers. After all, there was that scene where many guild members literally couldn't help themselves from having to terrorize Rusty's super science when he was flopping it out onto the front lawn.

So the level system wouldn't be in place for a while because they just wanted to arch on the biggest brain they could find
>>
>>154298184
How many fucking times are you going to make a thread about it?

The movie felt like a really long episode instead of a finale, and not the best one either.
>>
>>154315312
You could tell it was patchworked together from an entire season.
