During this spring I drew a bunch of pose drawings of a catgirl character of mine. I wanted to both get better at drawing her in general as well as figure out ways how to express her feline nature in her poses and behavior etc.I also found a pleasant way to draw her fur in the process. Her whole body is supposed to have an overall short but dense fur coating with the lenght of the coat varying a bit depending on the location, with it being the longest and thickest on her head and across her spine and tail.

The backbend pose was fun to draw, both as a test of my skills of just drawing a pose like that as well as just depicting her general inhuman "bendyness".And sure, I am open to suggestions. In general I enjoy drawing her, she has kind of become a character I draw as a break from my other worldbuilding drawings for the setting she belongs to. I have some story plans for her but they are thus far pretty vague and mostly just involve ideas of using her and the other characters I have for the mercenary group she belongs to to serve as windows into the setting I am building. The angle with her I have is exploring the nature of genetically engineered species within the setting, as she is essentially a type of artificially created sapient creature. Due to how heavily the setting revolves around biotech, I felt that it would only be natural for this type of technology to be used to create new forms of life and she serves as a sort of "case study/example" of such a being. My general idea with the setting is that the concept of what is even a human is kind of broken due to rampant genetic engineering and tampering and thus Jonya is just one among many such divergent forms of "human" derived life.

A lot of the lore I have for the setting is in a messy google document I have for it. My story plans for the setting are still in such vague state that I have not yet really settled on how I'd even execute them. Writing isn't my strong suite so I have been putting it on the backburner while I've focused more on just drawing stuff. Making a game out of the setting is kind of a pipe dream I have but given that I can't code for shit and this is a solo project overall it is kind of doubtful I'd be able to make a game. Some sort of comic or illustrated novel type of stuff might be the most feasible route for me.Jonya is an oddity for me to draw mostly because I generally don't draw female characters or "cute" stuff. Most of my drawings for the setting are either creatures or various weapons, soldiers or suits of armor etc. I've been trying to break a bit out of that comfort zone and depict other stuff as well though. Jonya's design and the ideas I have for her evolved over the years as I figured out her origins and what she is exactly is. I kind of wanted her to be this half animal creature from the get go but making her explicitly feline is somewhat more recent development, mostly because I found the idea of a "realistic" genetically engineered catgirl to be fun to explore. I gave her digitigrade legs to further push the feline aesthetic and because it made more clear that she is not fully human. Plus in general I kind of like the look of digitigrade legs, that type of leg setup is pretty common in the stuff I draw.The design of the outfit I drew for her was kind of driven by the idea of it being a light weight and "sneaky" suit that would accomodate her inhuman and flexible anatomy. The setting takes place on Earth, in a massive biomechanical megacity (picture related), which does have a lot of aquatic environments as well. I think that the image you are thinking off is the one I posted in the previous reply. The image is supposed to depict her sitting in some sort of small sleeping alcove with a window overlooking some street of the City at night. Anyways, drawing her diving could be a fun excercise in drawing stuff underwater so I am actually quite interested in giving it a go. I haven't actually drawn stuff in an aquatic environment before so it is a pretty novel idea to me. Plus, as you said, the weightless environment would give quite great deal of freedom in posing. I imagine that for her swimming & diving would be quite enjoyable. Her fur coat is propably not dense enough to keep her skin dry when she is swimming though so there propably would be some level of annoyance with it at least when it comes to drying off. I do imagine her to be pretty decent at swimming though given how strong her legs are.

For Umumacha, I gave her more of a pseud-aquatic theme like a nymph but leaning more into a warlike barbarian.

Her personal history does enable this a bit because the way I envision her having spent her very early childhood is as essentially small feral critter living in the slums and back alleys, subsiting by hunting smaller critters while hiding from bigger ones. Due to her hybrid nature she was never really an infant the way human children were, as in her very early youth she resembled something akin to a mixture between a cat and a juvenile monkey. Her rate of maturation and growth is divergent from more baseline humans in that she was far more animalistic in her youth, and only began to grow into proper sapience as she grew in size and matured, with her only learning to sort of mimick speech etc when she was roughly 5 or 6 years old. In her first few years she was essentially a weird little animal.

Generally she does use showers and what not like other people do for hygiene purposes and in order to act more civilized.In similar vein clothing to her was something that was introduced to her when she was properly socialized rather than something she grew up with as a child, and serves more of a social purpose for her than practical need given her generall full body fur coat. As for how she sounds like, my mental image is a slightly raspy and youthful, somewhat high pitched voice, but I can't really place an accent to it atm.The language within the City is not english, but I haven't gone trough the effort of coming up with a fake language for the setting either. The vague ideas for what the languages spoken in the City are is essentially that they are some sort of warped far future daughter languages borne out of mixture of major world languages with heavy asian leaning given the location of the City, that evolved over propaly at least a ten thousand years if not more given how the setting takes place in the far future.I unfortunately am not potent enough autist to really get into conlanging.I did actually end up desiging a custom script for the setting I have used to write text in it but it is basically just the latin alphabet with different symbols and some words replaced with specific characters/sigils.

He is few years older than Jonya so they have a sort of sibling type of dynamic going on, born largely from mutual survival on the streets and slums of the City though the exact rundown of their origins is still a bit vague in my head. Both he and Jonya are based on the characters I had in the quest I ran on /tg/ set on an early iteration of the setting from over a decade ago.I propably should spend a bit more time and energy on developing him as well design wise etc but admittedly I find drawing Jonya far more fun. His design has also shifted over time with the most up to date design I have for him being intentionally a bit less bulky and more young looking as I imagine that he is ultimately not that much older than Jonya and my earlier iterations of his design were kind of cartoonishly bulky and huge. A quirk of his design stemming from the very first time I drew him for the quest I ran is that his right arm is overdeveloped when compared to his left, a result of some sort of mutation and uneven physical development as most commoners like him within the setting suffer from various genetic ailments and congenital defects.
