that guy needs help!

Not by a longshot and he absolutely deserved what happened to him.

>threatening to fire someone over wanting to help someone actively being mugged
Surely HR would be on Bob's side, right?

Right about what? Bob wasn't doing anything illegal, he said so himself. It's not Bob's fault the customers just so happened to know the right steps to avoid get cheated.

The Incredibles is such a rewarding film to watch as an adult after being obsessed with it during your childhood because of all the cool action and less subtle comedic moments. Will kids who grew up with the sequel get that same effect, or was that one more in-your-face with everything it did?

If Bob was a regular employee and tried to stop a mugging then there's a bunch of ways it could've gone wrong and the company could've been in trouble. And he's on the clock. This is a world where someone sued a superhero because they stopped him from committing suicide. The responsible thing would've been to call the police and report it. But the boss was an ass that laughed and joked about it.

Manlets are never right.
>>
>>154304654
There are companies who would fire their own employees because a customer got angry and sucker punched them and would not give a shit if the employee didn't do anything to provoke it or didn't even try to fight back
>>
no, insurance companies could make their prices affordable and still make millions of dollars and their ceos can still have their gay as fuck lifestyles. but it doesnt matter capitalizing on a person's health is amoral and objectively evil

I never understood why they put Bob on such a miserable and monotonous job. Wouldn't it be better if he worked as a firefighter, search and rescue or a cop? He could (subtly) use his super strength for good while getting his dose of heroics he's always craving.

>forced employees to be docked pay for things like phone calls and electrical usage

Nah, fuck this guy. Insurance executives are the biggest fucking shitbags ever
>>

IIRC he's been given numerous jobs but botches things up because he blows his cover. He has a desk job to keep him from using his powers.

This. The old lady thing basically happened to me after apartment collapsed due to being built over an undisclosed sinkhole. Except it was even worse because they initially said I was covered and put me up in a hotel, then called me during work to say I had been "accidentally" approved and my living assistance would be immediately terminated. They didn't even give me an extra day as courtesy to look for a new hotel. Thank goodness my employer was willing to help me out, or I'd be completely fucked. I think about The Incredibles all the time now.

>he's been given numerous jobs
Whene did they say that?

I think they mention they've moved several times before. The movie starts with Hellen finishing unpacking.

It turns out the real superhero was Luigi

The boss was a total cunt but it's funny to me that people can't comprehend why someone's boss wouldn't want one of their employees to run out and attempt to stop a potentially armed mugging on company time.
>>
>>154304168
They started calling it main character syndrome long after this movie came out
The entire scene is intended to highlight that normal people don't become superheroes. But it also showcased just how right the government was in treating superheroes as walking disasters wearing human skin
>>
No what he was doing was illegal.
>>
insurance industry is built on the principle that emergencies and disasters are rare, and people generally aren't going to make trouble if they don't need to. trying to weasel out of small claims that nominally meet terms isn't worth the complication.

The sensible thing to do would be to call the police and report it, not ignore it and/or joke about it.

>>154313585
It wasnt even the muggin, he wasnt done berating Bob and he very much enjoyed having so much power over him. The guy didnt give a single fuck about the man being robbed or even potentially killed, this was all about maintaining power, be it over his employees or his victims ("customers").
