Seriously, after 4 I thought this franchise was doomed but I really think they nailed it here.They really let best girl Jessie shine after getting sidelined in the previous films. Maybe a little too fast paced but other than that I’ve got no complaints.Also the Buzz army was genuinely peak.

Jessie was great in 2 and 3. I was surprised at modern disney for actually trying to take a stance on anything and point out a societal ill. even if the leappad was 'redeemed', they didn't try to handwave or dial back on showcasing that parents are being negligent toward their children by not limiting their screen time. At every opportunity, Bonnie's parents failed to discipline her and she got more upset.The buzz army b plot was funny, and the tension of whether or not they could network the two kids so they could make friends was earned. Jessie was characterized really well.The fake conflict between Buzz and Woody, Buzz being completely incompetent and distracted, and really Woody's inclusion i the movie at all felt really bad.What they can't be forgiven for is their blatant social engineering. It was already frustrating how in 3 the toys, many of which were inherited, were given away to a mestizo family. But now, they show Jessie's owner's family home being owned and lived in by indians using it as a cheap rural property for him to use as a home office. They do this at least one other time in the movie, when they are trying to catch the truck, and the new built home shows another indian man sitting at a computer.This is the subliminal shit they get themselves off to. They have to show white people giving away their stuff and losing their homeland.
