If your favorite hero got his own Life Story series, what would it be like?I’d start with my own, but he’s immortal. It would be mostly depressing.…I’ve still thought about it. Might write it at some point in time.
Does anyone even remember this series?
>>154306722Why is everyone so obsessed with passing the title onto miles.
>>154307375They've been desperate to retire Pete for 30 years and fans keep saying no, so they're trying to foster new opposing fans that can fight and win so he can finally rest
>>154306722>AAAAAAAA SPIDER-MAN LET ME OUT YOU MENACE I'LL PUT OUT EVEN MORE NEWSPAPERS SAYING YOU'RE HORRIBLE AND ACCUSE YOU OF CRIMES I KNOW YOU DIDN'T DO AND CREATE MORE SUPERVILLAINS TO PROVE I'M RIGHT
>>154306722A Hulk life story is the only thing I think could work with this concept as well, maybe if you end it with Hulk versus the Maestro and they both die in the explosionOr a redo of FF that doesn't fumble the premise by making it all about Galactus
>>154307356It's been on my list since forever, but I never find it in shops
A Superman version would just be All Star again, although they maybe could do something interesting to represent Crisis in the 80s.
>>154307356Yes. Its gonna stay on my tablet forever. Its a super cool story
>>154309104Space Age is this for Superman
>>154306722A batman one that gets year one, no man's land, dkr into the same timeline.
>>154308964>maybe if you end it with Hulk versus the Maestro and they both die in the explosionEither that or just end it with, well, The End again. Just maybe with some callbacks to Immortal this time
>>154309173I completely skipped that because I don’t like Allreds art style. I might have to stomach it if that’s what it is.
>>154309104The DC version of this is generally Byrne's Generations miniseries but Byrne kind of goes in different directions from the 70s onwards
>>154306722Spider-Man Life Story is the equivalent of a greatest hits album. Just cool moments taken from better stories, put next to other cool moments from other stories, with not much connective tissue. Everything just happens too fast to care; if you aren't already familiar with the Spider-Man stories being referenced, then you are going to be lost.
>>154309218I considered that but if ultimately decided to stay within the linesYou can have the 2010s be Planet Hulk and then Maestro be the future that results from him coming back unless he sacrifices himselfActually let me map this out: 60's would be the time shortly after the Avengers where he goes more savage and Bruce truly begins the war against the Hulk, 70s would be the story where they separate, have him marry Betty and then they have to recombine and Joe is born, 80s is Joe and then Betty brings in Samson and the merged Hulk happens, 90s Betty is starting to come to terms with her aging and him not when Blonsky kills her, 00s he kills Abomination and goes savage again, leading to him being shot into space, 2010s Planet Hulk but he's shown the future where he returns to Earth and becomes the Maestro
Really disappointed there wasn’t a page or 3 at the end for 2099.
>>154307375idk. Mayday is better and makes more sense. To me, Miles will always be a variant, not a legacy character.
I want a Life Story about a villain. Sabretooth, Ant-Man, Mystique. Someone like that
>>154306722would be funny to have a cap life story just freeze steve a couple years until he reaches 2099
>>154310014There is Marvel what the?! episode about it
>>154309353Can you elaborate? I saw ads about it
>>154307375Programming the culture to keep the genocide moving.
Iron Man: Life Story is an obvious choice. Lots of time periods to pastiche and Tony is a very easy avenue for it, 60s with a sort of Mad Men vibe, Tony at 30 trying to square his life changing experience in Vietnam with the larger social upheaval of the decade, 70s his drinking and partying and superheroing catches up to him, etcPlus, you can easily run with an older Tony in the 2000s as Secretary of Defense trying to get the Superhero Registration Act passed.
>>154313269Rich boy becomes more conservative as the years pass.Makes sense.Honestly, Civil War era had so much potential. If only the writers could all agree and keep the heroes' personalities consistent. I.E. not portraying Tony as an absolute fascist and the registration act so goddamn retarded. Like, make it actually appealing and reasonable. Strike a real balance, without making any one side as being clearly right. Cap was right. He is always right.Shit, imagine the new heroes like Kamala actually having to live in post Civil War era where the registration act wasn't forgotten in year or two and reversed to status quo.
>>154313269>Tony in the 2000s as Secretary of Defense trying to get the Superhero Registration Act passedThat the two were unrelated is really odd looking back on it.
>>154308502I read this in the Homelander voice kek
>>154308964So stupid that they didn’t even keep Galactus in-character for a story all about him. I doubt the author had ever read a single F4 story.
>>154308428Eh, not really. It's more that Marvel wants to have their cake and eat it too. In the sense that Peter is supposed to be the Adult Spider-Man dealing with big issues while Miles is the teen dealing with smaller scale stuffExcept this doesn't work as modern Peter is a characterized as a 12yr old while Miles is allowed to show more growth and maturity If Marvel wanted to retire Peter for good then give me Portland 2 Electric boogaloo while Ben and Kaine take over with their own brand of street justice to separate them from Peter but they'll never do that since it means losing out on money from people following ASM for Peter
>>154315213It's what happens when Marvel decided to get less coordinated to appease their bigger writersSeriously they should've just skipped Tony being forced to resign/pretend that someone else is Iron Man/re-reveal that he is Iron Man and just said that Civil War-era Tony IS the result of Scarlet Witch's manipulation during Disassembled
