Was the ending really that bad as what people say?
>>
>>154317117
I don't know go ask in one of the thirty threads instead of deliberately spamming nonsense threads like this to cling to relevance.
>>
>>154317117
The pilot was too bad to watch all the way through; why would the rest of the series, end included, be different?
>>
>>154317142
true i'm just glad this troonslop ended
>>
>>154317117
Yeah, it was all just Goose's autobiography humiliation fetish.
>>
>>154317117
DO YOU HAVE TO MAKE A MILLION FUCKING THEREADS. HAVE YOU GONE BLIND FROM MASTURBATING TOO MUCH. CHECK THE CATALOG. DEATH ON ALL YOUR LOVED ONES.
>>
>>154317117
The ending was fine, the problem was not much even happened in the final episode to justify an entire hour. Though if I had to change the ending I would have not said all their real names or told their backstories and just have the characters watching the screen and being satisfied with what they say.
>>
>>154317178
It's like 4 or 5 dudes spamming on purpose, it'd be nice if we had jannies who did their jobs.
>>
>>154317150
Now if only it could be purged.
>>
>>154317117
Nah but it was kinda frail. I think the handful of episodes system prevent the show from having a real routine for them to subvert.
>>
>>154317117
It’s literally just Funnybunny shippers throwing a melty.
>>
>>154317117
I liked it a lot
>>
>>154317117
The ending was fine.
The retconning the main character to be the trans author's self insert was terrible.
>>
>>154317117
It wasn't amazing, just OK. Lotta waterworks and waow everyone happy at the end. Caine gets to be back because fuck consequences I guess. And now he understands humanity and acts perfectly human, OK. And the blue AI just kinda got flanderized into BPD Caine could have plucked out of his head any time. People talk about "jax, whatever happened there" but I think the big miss of the finale was Caine and generally very little actually happening. Besides crying and hugging.
>>
>90% of the episode is dedicated to Jax being revealed to be a heckin ally tranny
>10% of the episode is actually dedicated to being an ending for the series

It was shit.
>>
>>154317117
No, it was even worse
>>
>>154317297
The problem is Jax was never the main character. Nooseworx can say whatever HE wants but Pomni is thematically the main character.
I’m going to do a whole series rewatch to confirm but episodes 1-4 basically feel like a different show from the rest of the series, which sucks because I think episodes 6-8 were actually quite good (even if looking back they were just setting up the cuckdog ending)
>>
>>154317117
Its pretty bad. Not because it was 'woke' but because of how it handled the wokeness and the amount of time dedicated to it, and the sheer lack of time dedicated to anything else.
The finale episode does not work as a continuation of anything that came before. The comedy, adventure, etc of the previous episodes is completely absent. Every single character's personality and speech patterns have been overwritten to the same somber therapy-speak, if you told me that the finale was written by a completely new writer that was not involved with any of the previous episodes I'd believe you. It *feels* like fanfiction.

No challenges are overcome, no climax happens, we simply are privy to unrelated cathartic group therapy sessions for 50 minutes, and then we get a slideshow dropping some lore than doesn't really matter even to the characters themselves.

Its a complete misunderstanding of how a story ending works.

Maybe I'm just suffering from needing keys jangled in front of me, but I really expected something a little more epic and plot heavy. In essence, the finale just closed up two character arcs with some soul searching. Only Caine and Pomni were anything approaching proactive in the whole thing.
I don't have any issue with any of the individual scenes, I just thought the series was building towards something bigger than "AI learns to listen to prompts" and "Jax transitions to the grave".

The troon thing just makes everything weird. I felt like I was being groomed watching it, wtf.

>Literally the first mystery in the entire show
>Gets hinted at in almost every episode since the first
>Numerous breadcrumbs about his fate before the finale
>~2 total minutes of screentime
>Half his dialogue is him saying "what?" to Jax
If he was meant to just be a a device to give the show more stakes by introducing abstraction to the audience, that's fine. But why pretend like there's something important before the ending. The ending is honestly worse if you were invested in the show and actually paying attention to the "lore".
>>
>>154317117
It was a bit too mopey for me but it ultimately gave all the characters an ending that fit them.
>>
>>154317117
>there are at least 17 threads about this show in the catalog right now
...Why
>>
>>154319891
it’s a good show
>>
>>154317297
>The retconning the main character to be the trans author's self insert was terrible.
See, I didn't at all get that he was supposed to be trans. I guess I don't speak trans dog whistle, but honestly the only one I thought might have been transsexual or at least questioning was Zooble.
>>
So here's the real question that somehow, at the end of the day, we don't even have an answer to:

What is abstraction?

No seriously, we don't actually know what the fuck abstraction is. Does being sad make you abstract, or is becoming depressed an early symptom of abstraction? It was implied in that one scene that Caine messing with people's heads is what makes them abstract eventually, but if Caine is responsible for all of the abstractions the show REALLY dropped the ball on holding him accountable for that in any way.
Why does everyone who abstracts turn into a black eyeball soup monster that likes the dark? Why do Kinger and the abstractions like the dark, is that supposed to be a sign that he almost abstracted back in the day and thats why he's crazy now even though he barely managed to resist or something?

Abstraction is just this big mystery box of 'press button to raise stakes' but there's fucking nothing inside of it. I think thats why we didn't even get the scene where Jax abstracts, because that would require them to have any kind of fucking clue for how and why it happens and the truth is they don't have an answer for it.

at no point did they act like Kaufmo was important
>>
>>154321002
Him being weird about wearing the maid outfit, and the fact that it was Ribbit putting her bow on him that made him immediately lash out and go into full denial mode, seems to telegraph that it has to do with a desire to dress as a woman. Thats his dark secret trauma trigger shit. Technically it could just be crossdressing, but I haven't seen anyone online recognize the distinction between transvestite and transgender in like 15 years.
>>
>>154321012
he's not responsible for all the abstractions, but Scratch and probably some of the other early residents were his fault. abstracting is "becoming so mentally ill you suicide".

Who all here is gonna buy the digital circus hoodie with a picture of all the characters sitting around looking sad with a quote underneath attributed to "final episode of the show"?
>>
>>154321012
> I think thats why we didn't even get the scene where Jax abstracts
Missed opportunity to have his abstraction scene be where the audience gets his flashbacks in a weird headspace dream world, there's really no reason Pomni herself has to see any of it.
Reminds me of a similar despair induced transformation,

I've done my best to ignore this show after the boring pilot. Its kinda hard to today.
>>
>>154317117
Yes. It wasnt even an ending. They showed their human selves (awful choices all around) but nothing else got resolved.

It was okay but there were still too many loose ends and Caine should've remained the focus instead of Jax.

It depends what you wanted from the ending. If you watched it strictly as a character driven show it's alright I guess. If wanted anything else like answers to all those setup plot threads or something action packed you are in for a disappointment proportional to how much investment you put in.
>>
>>154321002
That's the thing, its there that he's secretly not comfortable with his masculinity.
But, they take that to mean that he's 100% in need of a chopadictomy.
As has been observed by many others, the group most against gender norms also enforces them the most when it comes to sterilization surgery.
>>
>>154317117
No, the ending itself was fine, it's just that the pacing was messed up due to having to cram a bunch of closure into a single hour. Ideally we'd have had more time to get everyone's character arcs settled and demonstrate how they've developed over the course of the story, but that wasn't really an option given that everything needed to wrap up immediately, so only Jax and Caine get the focus while everyone else is relegated to single scenes of catharsis because they need to make everything fit in an hour.
