The problem I have is that too many shows set up expectations for high adventure, but then want to S U B V E R T E X P E C T A T I O N SSo we get a handful of fun action adventure episodes but then the rest of the god damned series focuses on relationship drama or the politics of the people pulling the strings behind the adventures or some shit. At this point, I think the best way to subvert expectations is to subvert subverting expectations. Just make a fun adventure cartoon with no twists. Just good guy vs bad guy who has no tragic relatable background story.
