The premise of the show itself may be some "pseudo-nuclear post-apocalypse" type crap and maybe some characters closer to the "present day" of the show dress like that, but the Korra show itself was set in some 1920's-esque time period. It's kinda difficult to imagine her dressing like that and looking relatively young.

Or at least so intrinsically bound that one cannot exist without the other. They cannot be separated unless Harmonic Convergance happens. Even if one "dies" like we saw Raava did, they'll just be reborn in the other so the whole being split and combining into this Raatu reeks of being fake and gay.

In either case Korra ends up looking bad. Either she's an incredibly dumb and her actions had catastrophic consequences or she's weak and was thoroughly beaten by some villianBut the fact remains that according to the leaks the avatar is now hated and benders are enslaved. Either Korra did something so monumentally offensive amd destructive that it ruined 10,000 years of goodwill had towards the avatar and benders or Korra was beaten by an enemy that just showed chaos and destruction after they trounced her.My current theory is that a spirit or some kind of cosmic force was going to cause a big disaster and Korra broke apart the world to prevent total extinction of human life or somethingIt's very obvious that part of the show is going to be dedicated to rehabilitating Korra's image and shown how the apocalypse wasn't totally her fault but I honestly can't figure how they're going to do that without making everyone involved an absolute idiot.
