There's a lot of important parts of art besides just drawing. I did it for over 30 years before I got any good.

I was an AI artist when all this tech stuff came out. I was super young, completely stupid, I didn't know better? And everyone was so mean to me, like, incredibly cruel, especially because I live here in a third world country. I literally received death threats and messages of rape just for doing that, and honestly, back then, I didn't even understand why people hated it so much.The only person who didn't attack me was this guy I met on /ic/. He didn't care about what I was doing, he gave me real help and advice and we also lived so close too. He was so sweet, but he used to speak in this super weird, poetic way that made my head spin sometimes. He drew this bunny OC of his that looked basically like Lucy Loud, and he made her in so many different styles just to help me find my own style. No one ever took care of me like he did.But in the end, he was just a total weirdo. He manipulated me into sending him nudes and having sex with him, making me completely dependent on his presence. He said such bizarre things at first I thought it was just dorky, like him saying he was a real-life incubus or that he could sing to call the shadows and the stars or that he already done that to 1000 girls before. But when I got to know him deeper, with all the creepy things he did, it just terrified me. It made me feel so uncomfortable. And the worst part of all this? I liked it. I wanted him to do horrible things to me, to force me... but then he just abandoned me. He left.Now I can't even draw anymore. Every time I try, my brain just runs the same routine, reminding me of him and everything else. Everything I know about art, he taught me. I can't even watch certain shows or listen to music without feeling sick. I just hate all of it

>>154328948Yes, but not well, and I generally rely on a mix of tracing and interpolation to fill in the gaps on anything more complicated. I've gotten better, but I think I've plateaued given the amount of time (or lack thereof) I'm able to spend practicing.

Ive been drawing a lot lately but im not particularly good but it's hard to tell if I'm improving at all, I haven't been drawing for even a year now so my goal has been to "make the worst art imaginable" cause you have to start somewhere right?
