I get this has to be funded but I get such a bad pit in my stomach when I see literal who pilots shilling more plastic that will end up in a landfill. It is so wasteful. There's also Human Buddy, who do animations of scenarios to do with the human body. What stands out the most (in sub count, sure, but also...) is Jenny Hoyos, who's a vlogger who started out making crypto and stock-trading content; at least, those are the oldest videos available on her channel. Wanting to make money conditioned people into these. This type of thing is safe and made to be likely to make money.
The difference between the megacorps and it is that megacorps do it to get an extra nice quarterly number for investors while indies do it to maximize the chances theyll stay alive.
Small businesses pop up all the time and also die by a good amount, and thats accounting stuff nowhere near as risky as animation. Offering some cheap merch is a way to reduce the risk. As is not making something too out there.

It doesn't help that Zappy looks, dresses, and acts like a toddler. I could have sworn it was a baby children's show that the pivoted to a TADC style show. Its really distracting to see what is basically a baby and her baby sized friends suddenly talking about killing humans or being killed.

Technically, its very good. Looks professionally done. Artistically its shit, the writing rips everything off, largely from Glitch shows. This includes the weird prisoner dynamic, the childish characters suddenly acting mature including >realistic depictions of panic attacks, and the omnipotent God technology character that tries to be charismatic. Although TENDI in appearance resembles Commander terrazome from monkey wrench as well as making red the primary color of his faction. I was terribly disappointed when they escaped to find the facility is some bottomless MC Esther place, I cant decide if that was ripped off TADC or the TVA from Loki, which this pilot also seems to have lifted the MO from. They really should have had them actually get outside around the normal human world.

Lastly. Terrible name. Run Monster Run sounds like a Sewer Surfers app game. I was surprised ro see this wasnt tied to a game of some sort. I dont think I would have liked this even if I didnt compare it to anything else, I cant get over this baby show appearance with a more mature plot.

I’m not talking about elaborate lore. When you seek funding you do need to tell investors what your product is, your value proposition, and how it will be positioned in the market. A vague premise and three designs while pointing to success by competitors as though getting in the market is all it takes to compete doesn’t sell this project as the project to buy. Given the lead time on stuff like this it would be advantageous to sell either the mascot personality harder or explicitly relate the IP elements to the merchandising strategy. The board game would have been a good highlight here.

Honestly, this feels like more of a proper kid's show than a proper show-show. Just enough violence and edge to keep a kid hooked, but not so much that parents/guardians/overbearing siblings would make a fuss over. The PB that anon posted earlier doesn't really give me any indication whether or not it'll develop into something "too dark for kids", so all I can do is assume it's supposed to be a kid friendly lore show.
In my opinion, it feels a lot more organized than how TADC's pilot felt, as in the show has a clear path forward, and I would argue that the premise is alright. This is all hopium huffing, but I really hope they lean into the whole "fear of becoming evil" thing and, instead of a fucking therapy session every episode, that fear changes Zappy (for example) until the weight of it causes her to snap.
But, and this is a huge but, it still feels like it's torn between making something kid-friendly and making something for adults. The designs and art direction overall really do scream "kid's show" like others have already pointed out, whether they're in 2D or 3D. Cute, but still, if it wasn't for seeing it posted here, I would have skipped it altogether.
Plus, the whole episode just felt... Slow. Not awkwardly paced, just slow. Not a huge detraction, but it can make or break most people, given how short attention spans have come.
All in all, I like it. I don't have high hopes it'll go anywhere, unless YouTube's algo blesses the creators somehow, but who knows.

Also the main cast is adorable.
