Honestly the troon stuff doesn't bother me (even though it was absolutely unnecessary and actually takes away from Jax being horrible by giving him a 'reason' for it, sometimes people are just assholes, and the uncertain situation he left his mom in was good enough for a "horrible thing in IRL", no failed outing needed) as much as the absolute horrible mistake it was to actually show the Circus' IRL counterparts. It directly undercut the message of "finding meaning in a stagnant life", by giving them clear-cut catharsis on the real people behind the simulacra. Same thing with bringing back Caine, it sabotages the original intent behind the show.
