The real problem is we've reached a point where technology is so aggressively integrated in kids lives that we can't expect them to not learn how to bypass things.
Even by my junior/senior year of HS, there were activities in class where we used our phones like Kahoot.

Unironically, that might actually be a better solution. Ban smart devices from schools, treat giving a child a tablet before they can even speak as child abuse, reinforce the online safety stuff we used to have before companies decided they wanted to profit off of data.
