New Zerocalcare show dropped semi-recently, wondering if /co/ has any thoughts on it
>>154342143I guess it's better than the second season, but it still wasn't as great as its first.
>>154343695I think it'll be hard to top the first season. It's a simple but strong story that's presented really well. S2 and S3 both get out of Zero's head and explore others more for better and worse.
>>154342143I don't know, I feel like it's a repeat of the second season.>Zero gets into trouble that doesn't personally affect him.>The problem is resolved without Zero's help.>Zero returns to his life without any consequences.
>>154345029>Zero returns to his life without any consequences. He got a dog this timeMore seriously, S2 felt like while Zero was out of his depth, the situation was salvageable via the help of his friends. Kind of a trope-y "power of friendship/kindness" thing but overall a hopeful vibe.S3 didn't really feel like that, his friends are all just as fucked-up as Zero (except Secco) and the situation was fucked and only resolved due to Tripwire being such a shitbag someone killed him for something unrelated to Zero. Felt less hopeful and more a grim acceptance that some things are beyond your control.
>>154343695many such cases!
I find it kinda funny Zero's friend group didn't start fracturing until they were in their 40's. I'm not even 30 and I basically only talk to one of my childhood friends regularly.
This one felt way less grounded than the other two seasons. Too much drama between the loan shark and his being the abusive boyfriend.
>>154349348Weirdly it being less grounded made things more predictable. I saw the Tripwire being the abusive boyfriend and Montini killing him coming. With S2 I wasn't sure weather Cesare would get redeemed or not until the end since IRL that kind of thing can go either way.
