nothing to see here, just Al Jean working out his perverse Bart hateboner
>>154343579Why is /co/ so oddly defense of/identifies with Bart?
>>154344103They identify with being an underachieving loser who's somehow able to prove their parents/siblings/teachers wrong and become successful without having to change anything about their personality or work ethic.
>>154344103Wasn't the whole point of Bartmania about Bart being relatable?
>>154344350/thread
>>154344465That anon's diatribe doesn't address the reason OP made the thread so, no, not really.
because we all had ADHD and got in trouble at school constantlyalso: it's a Bart's ass episode
>>154344103no the real question is why are you defending this episode
>>154343579This was the first new episode I didn't watch and I haven't seen a new one since.
the show's hate boner for bart is one thing but making lisa a self-righteous, sanctimonious cunt that never gets her comeuppance is another.
>>154343579People today forget this, but The Simpsons was the "hateful fart cartoon" of the early '90s and was pretty much forced to do a 180 on Bart's characterization thanks to political pressure from the FCC.
>>154344421The producers loved the merchandise money rolling in, but also hated that Bart became the face of the series during it's early years.
>>154345337I never got that. At least early on they weren't afraid to at least make her interesting even with that limitation in play. Now she's doing shit that'd get any one other than her in jail, but she gets to go scot free. Think the episode with female Itchy and Scratchy. She should have been horrified that Bart got shamed by his "friends" and tried to set thing right. But no, she rubs it in his face and doesn't seem too distraught that her favorite show is going to be destroyed by terrorists passing themselves as feminists. Made me want to punch her.
