>>154344678I re-read it recently and IMO it doesn't hold up at all. It's carried entirely by the first arc which has a lot of weird stuff (mainly the attempted Iron Lad/Cassie romance despite the fact they've known each other for like an hour). The rest of it after that arc like the "Patriot takes super-roids" story isn't that good and Children's Crusade is terrible. The actual writing, dialogue, characterization and all of that is like a more subdued version of Bendis.All it's really got going for it is Jim Cheung's art with Justin Ponsor's colors.

>>154347187>>154347242The most interesting concept from Gillen's run is that Billy is a retroactive self-insert of his all-powerful future self and that Tommy, Teddy, and America are in-universe OCs due to the Demiurge turning history into his AO3 account. It's a real shame that Marvel walked back on that hard because it's genuinely clever, and has the added benefit of succinctly resolving the continuity issues of Billy, Teddy, and Tommy.
