You can't tell me this movie wasn't straight up organ donor propaganda

Woody gets to be with his women and its a good movie.
>>
>>154345736
Lots of weird things in that movie that don't make sense or resonate.
Like the canadian patriotism motorcycle guy. Did not vibe at all. lol like, no one is realistically proud to be a canuck.
The canadian branch of pixar was defunct for 6 years by that point. No idea.

For some reason, Disney really liked putting out this message of "leave your family" during this time period. Frozen 2, Toy Story 4, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Rise of Skywalker all had these messages at the end.

Maybe it's to create a fractured population
>>
I find it unbelievable that Bonnie would not get sad over losing Woody and that Woody would even risk that. I always got sad when I lost things as a kid.
>>

It's completely contradictory to the first 3 films where the message was clearly "Always be there for your kid no matter what". I mean that was hammered in, especially for Woody who literally did anything it took to get back to Andy.

Also the whole narrative of Bonnie not caring about Woody didn't even make any sense. It seemed pretty clear in the 3rd movie he was the favorite out of Andy's toys given to her. And the 4th movie itself doesn't stay consistent with that "Bonnie doesn't care" narrative either. Woody get butthurt over not being picked for playing 3 times in a week? That doesn't even sound that bad. She played with him on the roadtrip too.

I understand they wanted to make a story with Bo Peep in it but they really mischaracterized Woody by having him basically leave everyone else just to go with her.

That is a really good point. Wreck It Ralph 2 also had story that basicallt contradicted the entire first film and that bothered me too.

They cleared that up at the start of the movie. Bonnie doesn't play with Woody for weeks.

>>154348390
I thought it was pretty realistic for her to lose interest. She's a very young girl so she probably forgot that exchange with Andy already.
>Woody get butthurt over not being picked for playing 3 times in a week? That doesn't even sound that bad.
Its pretty bad since she leaves very few toys in the closet, ones that look less fun than Woody. And other times when Woody appeared next to Forky, she would only respond to him and not Woody. It just seems fair to assume she lost interest and for Woody to fall back with Bonnie. It's okay for Woody to try a different path if he's not needed.

Bo Peep is the love of his life dude.
>>
>>154348534
NTA but idk, I don't remember it being weeks since he was used.

Even if we accept the idea that Bonnie lost interest in playing with only Woody specifically and ignored him, and that it was ok for him to leave, I still think this is a more flawed movie than the prior ones. I agree with the common criticisms that they made Buzz low IQ. Also to my original point, FORCING Woody to basically give up his internal organs aka his voicebox, and then act like Gabby Gabby is this redeemed good character afterwards is ridiculous. I'm not even sure why they did that, it seemed incredibly forced as a plot point. Just a weird thing to add in, and uncomfortable to watch as well.

Anna is Elsa's sister, the only family she has left, and Elsa left her to live like a hobo in a tent. Vanellope is Ralph's best friend, and she leaves him to live a life of crime and degeneracy.

Bo Peep could have simply come along with Woody to live with Bonnie, but she chooses to be homeless and hang around meth addicted carnies.

And then Jessie learned to stop being racist to tech toys in 5
So sick of Pixar's agendas

>for weeks
I remember it being a few days.
>when Woody appeared next to Forky, she would only respond to him and not Woody
Bonnie is seen playing with Woody on the roadtrip.
>It's okay for Woody to try a different path if he's not needed.
This makes absolutely no sense given the messages of the prior 3 movies and Forky's mere existence being reliant on Woody's interference.

You have the causality backwards, it’s reflective of fracturing that the storytellers already experienced.

While Toy Story 4 isn't "bad" like some like to claim, I do feel that its core themes about 'the importance of living for yourself after you've spent years providing for others who are no longer as dependent on you' could've been reworked into an original IP. I'm sure the Pixar artists could've come up with a new metaphor that'd function just as well as children's toys.

Yeah that's the one part of the movie I didn't really care for. I still stick by the original points though.

I feel like it got caught up in bullshit and missed its own Cowboy myth concept. After everything, Woody's got the right to ride off into the sunset. But TS 4 seems to want to be about anything but that.
>>
The only good thing in this movie is Bo Peep's butt.
>>
>>154348825
I actually liked seeing Woody give up his voice box to Gabby Gabby. Woody is so full of love and selflessness that he'd give up his own voice box, just so another toy can have a chance at finding love.

It's like the messages that Jesus tells us. "Love your enemies, turn the other cheek."
>>
Toy Story 6 will finally be about kids learning that toys are alive.

Screencap this.

>>154345736
nope, not joining the organ donor registry

the execs were going through some tough divorces at the time and wanted you to feel their pain

Vanellope going into some live-service online racing game has no good ending either. Her ass is either getting deleted by the next update once the devs find out, or the game gets discontinued and deleted entirely a few years down the line

It works dude thats what the "no matter what" thing was about.
