ReBoot did it better
Wait, is this a stealth TADC thread, or a stealth Gameoverse thread? lmao
>>154350390It would be nice if it was just a reboot thread. That show was pretty good while it lasted.
Warning incoming game.
This was considered cutting edge computer graphics back in the 90s.
>>154350463Aside from the first season having some janky walk movements, its held up well.
>>154350367You're just a whore for the silicon dream look
>>154350463Considering their previous project looked like this, yeah.
>>154350513How quickly could someone make this in blender today?(obviously the rotoscoping and compositing techniques would complicate it by a lot but you get what I mean)
>>154350513They showed up in the talent show episode. Where the show went out of their way to have everyone hate their guts and drop a sand bag on their heads.
>>154350566what because he was a jealous bitch about rockstars?
>>154350367facial feature placement? Better than 99% of other CG work for the last 30 years? Why yes, it did.it's not fucking hard, guys. Ima tell you the same thing I told Bratz. Barbie got it right. You didn't need to fix that, it wasn't broken.
>>154350483haha yeah, they really did not understand walkingI have said forever that CG animation needs to be done via live puppeting, no more of this click and drag bullshitJust put two little white balls on my fingertips, and have the camera watch as i WALK THEM. Now, do what you just saw, to the character's feet.If I want them to stop suddenly, I just make my fingers do that too. and maybe two other fingers are keyed to the hands, so if I throw them up like whoa whoa, the character can do thatfuck manual animation, fuck fullbody mocap (always looks uncanny as hell). Just puppetry. everything a puppet. it's real real easy with a little imagination. you got a spider? Map the spider legs to a finger. they bend identically.
>>154350513>MOVE-A MOVE-A!
>>154350559We have AI technology. It can be made in 1 minute.
>>154350513>skin color on one face of the glovewith this few polygons, how do you make that kind of stnank? you'd think you'd just mirror the arms.
>>154350679Soulless.
>>154350679For someone that relies on prompted, you sure as hell like bringing up AI unprompted.
>>154350686looks prtycute to me, and better than most of its peers.well not the duckand the elephant is just okay. . its belly is too high.and the guy at the bottom left sucks. he is quite soulless.
>>154350696how's ride on that bandwagon. good shocks? are they serving drinks and shit? bags of peanuts at least?
>>154350696He asked a tech question and I gave him a tech answer. Not sure why you're angry when it's just facts.
>>154350741If I wanted to be retarded, I have other avenues than delegating my capacity to think to an AI controlled by a tech company. Also Blender is free, no subscriptions.
>>154350933>If I wanted to be retarded, I have other avenues than delegating my capacity to think to an AI controlled by a tech company. You're using a computer, operating system, the internet that all came from tech companies. But it's "AI" where you luddites draw the line?Pathetic.
AI models are rather bad in topology TBF
>>154351264So do human artists. In 6 more months it will look even better.
>>154350367I wonder how many more times they can copy Reboot. At least three, I estimate.
>>154350679Well, yeah, AI has more trouble with consistency though.
>>154351298Gameoverse is just gonna be shitty fucking Reboot. I can already tell. It'll get eight episodes, and they'll do maybe four actual "we visit the game, and have an adventure" episodes, before needing to ramp up the plot for the ending. Meanwhile Bob went on adventures every week, fighting as a knight, or a race car driver.
>>154351312For now.And it's still cheaper than commissioning someone so it balances out.
Does anyone else think its weird how this show went from "father and surrogate son go on wacky computer adventures" in seasons 1 +2, into "Mad max Enzo: The Quest for Vengeance" in season 3? The tone shift gave me whiplash when I was a kid.
Hexadecimal gave me a boner.
Does ReBoot hold up at all? It's one of those shows that was on when I was too young to appreciate what the fuck was going on, but I just remember being so mesmerised by the state of the art CGI
>>154352570I havent rewatched it but sometimes 90s humor and culture kind of seems corny when you revisit it. I guess it depends on how jaded you are when you interact with it again.
>>154352496I loved it.
>>154350933TBF, there are FOSS models you can run locally.
>>154351095>missing the point this badlyThe problem is that you're letting a machine do the thinking and creative process for you. The fact most popular LLMs are controlled by corporations who have every incentive to make you dependent on their product and use it to shape your worldview is just the cherry on the shit cake.Seriously, give GPT/Gemini/whatever you use a break. It's ruining your brain.
>>154350367>ReBoot did it betterYes, and?
>>154352496I think the tone shift really worked for it, after about 2-3 years of getting used to a status quo, the end of Season 2 and season 3 having this jarring changed feels fresh and earned.
>>154353177>The problem is that you're letting a machine do the thinking and creative process for you. You're using a car to do all the movement for you! You're using a washing machine to do all the cleaning for you! You're using a toaster to do all the cooking for you!Like dude give it a rest. AI is just a tool. If you really want to reject technology then go live off the grid.
>>154352496It felt pretty natural, after the status quo was broken and Megabyte was let loose. He was becoming more and more bold in season 2 with it building towards something none of us saw coming.
>>154352570If your a jaded fuck filtered by a show looking dated, then you won't like it.
>>154354725A human can't move like a car, but it can draw like AI.A washing machine is legit a worse way to wash clothes, it's just used for speed and convenience, but hand washed clothes are better. A toaster similarly provides lesser quality than something actively cooked on a griddle or skillet, it's just more convenient. AI is for people with no ambition or aspiration.
>>154352496
>>154352496Punished Enzo arc was a lot more compelling because it was closer to what they wanted to do from the start. The only iffy point is that it really made me hate the Mainframe Binomes>basically can't defend themselves at all>start being picky when Bob's gone & would rather have no one defend them than Enzo>lose Enzo too & get fed their humble pie>Enzo comes back & saves them>they find a new reason to resent him with what he's becomeif it weren't for the support from AndrAIa, Dot & Bob, Enzo would have undoubtedly blown his own brains out
>>154352525I never watched this show but I saw a clip of her and she gave me a boner too
>>154355794>they find a new reason to resent him with what he's becomeAnon he was actively shooting at them, with live rounds, as a training exercise.Which in itself was bullshit, as part of season 4's general goal of having nearly every character be out of character or forget their development
>>154355794To be fair I think the Mainframe Biomes could defend themselves with the CPU cars, they were just heavily outgunned by Megabyte's viral ABCsTheir main problem was with GamesAnd Bob and the Principal Office made it common practice to have the binomes avoid Game Cubes and leave fighting the User to Bob, and then later EnzoIt's not that they couldn't defend themselves, they were just taught not to because they were afraid they'd get in the way and make it worse. So they became completely dependent on Guardians like Bob.It's not like Dot and Mouse were going into games to protect the city after Enzo lost. They just let everything go to hell in like a year.Presumably back when they had the Twin City, they had twice as many resources to fix any damage after a lost game and significantly more Sprites who could win the games more effectively than a binomeThe whole renegade arc showed that Matrix and AndrAIa learned their lesson and were willing to lead and train anyone willing to enter the Games into being a more effective strike forces binomes and sprites alike to protect their respective systems
>>154356088even before that they go out of their way to call him "a grim aggressor man" in the musical recap while he looks ashamed which always felt like such an unnecessary kick in the balls to the guy who fought tooth & nail to come back & save your asses after he grew up & became more capable like you all literally told him to
>>154356268...he WAS a grim aggressor man
