Lick it. Lick it.
How are candy canes, presents, a pine tree and Santa Claus related in any way to the birth of Christ?

>>154352386Christmas was not universally celebrated by all Christian denominations in the US until sometime late in the 19th century because many of them inherited the Puritan opposition to the holiday.

>>154352260>"Good Lord! What is Marge doing to Bart?!"
>>154352260Never like this episode that much, it portray Marge in such a negative light. Rather than trying to understand Lisa's reasoning for converting to a new religion that she feels more comfortable being she just sweep it off as her going a phrase. She spent most of the episode attempting to bribe her back to Christianity with making her believe that she won't have Christmas if she stays Buddhist, she literally needed to learn from Richard Gere that she could have both her faith and Christmas. And it's not like Lovejoy (or Flanders) didn't help, Rev was quick to label Lisa as Marge's Devil Daughter, cause this is how Christians treat any non-God (their God) centric worshiping religions. But it's not even just that since they also did a episode where Bart and Homer became Catholic and Marge was against it the whole episode, so it's strictly if you're not worshiping the Christian way.
