did you guys get your copy? whats my prerequisite reading before i start this? the art is phenomenal in the btw
"X-Men: Elsewhen is a three-volume graphic novel series in the Marvel Arts line that sees the return of acclaimed X-Men artist Byrne decades after his last work on the series. Byrne has written and penciled every page and inked multiple chapters, all of which pick up the story from where his first go–round ended, taking this beloved lineup of characters―and his fans―in exciting new directions.!"I'm interested. But there's no way I'm getting this until all three are out. I have zero faith in Marvel to deliver, and that's 100% on Marvel not on Bryne.
>>154356698I don't like Byrne's art, but his art used to be better.
>>154356698The colorist did a really bad job. The inks are great though. Wish there was a black and white version or something, it looks so horribly washed-out and dull.
>>154356698Is it colorized or still black and white, and is the lettering any better than when it was posted on Byrne's forum?>>154356875>I'm interested. But there's no way I'm getting this until all three are out. I have zero faith in Marvel to deliver, and that's 100% on Marvel not on Bryne. How involved is Marvel beyond just giving them the license to publish this? Also, it looks like the last issue Byrne posted on his board was #32, back in 2022. Unless he has drawn any more since then, these collections are going to end on an unresolved cliffhanger.
>>154356875Marvel isn't publishing this, it's being done by Adams Arts under the licensed Marvel Arts branch

I know that he put it on hold because he was having eye surgery and the last new work of his I remembered seeing was the final Funky Winkerbean comics he did
>>154356698>whats my prerequisite reading before i start this?Giant-Size X-Men #1 to UXM #143
>>154357305It doesn't seem like it>The first volume contains a big chunk of story to delight X-Men fans past and present. Byrne says there’s a lot more to come, but that the story ends on a cliffhanger at the end of Volume 3. After that, Byrne says not to expect any more.https://www.forbes.com/sites/robsalkowitz/2026/06/23/john-byrne-on-his-surprising-return-to-the-x-men-and-the-elsewhen-project/
>>154356698i hate the coloring and inking on it. it looked better from fan inks on forums than official ink/colors from marvel/the 3rd world subcontractor they sent it off to. it should be using the colors from 80s, not shitty digital flats and blending gradients.
>>154357991You'd think Byrne the artist autist would care about that sorta shit.
>>154358010He’s an old man now. He’s stopped caring.
>>154356698I mean I guess it would be good to have some context on Byrnes work prior.
>>154359376Well then why does he even do it in the first place? Money? How the hell does he not get these editor fags to actually color it right?
>>154359488Maybe as a backup for when his forum dies?
