Last time, Lynn dragged Anya to Amun's apartment as he was out from school and at Lynn's insistence the three of them went to get coffee. However, an argument between a man and the guy his wife was cheating on him with turned violent when the aggrieved man pulled out a gun. Anya took him out but let Lynn think Amun did it and he and Anya came to an understanding as he agreed to back off of targetting those close to her. Anya also learned that they were going to try taking out a man named Felix Jade, a Mexican gangster who she believes killed her mother. But because of the emotional nature and the risk that she could lose control, Miguel attempted to force Anya to sit things out.Today will be Araña #9-12 plus the Spider-Man/Araña one shot to close out the series.
Thought I had included it. Anyway, previous thread >>154375399
Issue 10
Oh look, Avery vaguely and half-assedly remembered that Anya has a life beyond the Spider Society.
Issue 11
Issue 12At least we get a Miyazawa cover.
You know, I do at least like that Anya has a bit of edge to her with her hot headedness and now willingness to kill. It's kind of a shame that's more or less forgotten about after this series.
>Jade didn't actually kill Anya's mother.Okay, then why spend like 5 issues on this guy? Why introduce this twist and thus a new mystery in the final issue when you know you've been cancelled? I think this page kind of epitomizes a lot of the issues with Avery's writing in this series. She's too caught up in her mystery boxes and myth arcs despite not being good at them.
>He escapedAgain, setting up a plot in the final issue that will have zero payoff because you will never see this guy again. It's like she was writing under the impression that the book wasn't actually cancelled or she was just going to get to do a relaunched Araña and continue all of this.
This was the last issue of the ongoing but it'll get a coda in the form of a one shot that basically serves to write off the Spider Society bullshit and free Anya from its shackles for good. It'll also be written by Tania Del Rio, not Fiona Avery, who Marvel probably should have gotten in touch with to write Anya from the beginning.
Spider-Man/Araña: The Hunter RevealedI'm skipping a chunk of this issue since it's just an 8 page recap (in the form of Anya's diary and drawings) of the ongoing we've just read so there's no point in including it.

>she wasn't actually a Hunter and the carapace was actually something else entirelyA clear retcon but again the point of this is to divest Anya from all of this shit so whatever.
>Miguel ACK'dGood riddance
Okay, wait, if the carapace was unique to Anya and not part of the Hunter stuff, then why did giving Nina the Hunter abilities turn her into Witchblade? Ah, whatever.
That finishes off Araña, next time we see an Anya solo comic won't be until way after Grim Hunt and she'll be Spider-Girl. None of these characters, the Webcorps people or Amun or any of them, will be seen again. Lynn already disappeared halfway through the ongoing. Only Anya's father will show up again and, well, he won't be around for long.Next time it's back to Academy X to start finishing up DeFilippis and Weir's run with Hellions #1-4.
