The writing was just bad, all over, regarding everything and not just Jax. There was so much missed potential to have a satisfying ending that answered burning questions and let beloved characters have their rightful moments to shine. Instead we got an hour of trauma and nothing satisfying at all. Caine deserved a way better redemption. Kinger deserved way more spotlight and to actually act. Scratch deserved a flashback and a backstory. Jax deserved a way better story, and if how he was handled onscreen wasn’t bad enough initially, now discussion and fanart of this show at all is doomed to only ever be about Jax being trans and “lovely” (trans or not, s/he’s still an abusive cunt). Pomni deserved to be more than just Jax’s therapy golden retriever (except in the one moment where it was convenient to the plot for her to not be so he could run off on his own and kill himself). The entire premise deserved to be explored how it works and such and how it all happened, and it was completely glossed over. This finale just sucks ass. I was satisfied with Murder Drones’ ending at least, I even thought that left some things unaddressed and glossed over but after watching this it makes Murder Drones’ finale look like a masterpiece. Murder Drones’ issues all stemmed from too-fast pacing, but Digital Circus’ writing just plain ol’ sucked. I am beyond peeved.

Jax made it his mission to make everyone around him miserable - in a setting where everyone's in an existential nightmare and getting too depressed from it causes you to go irreversibly insane. Bender was just self-centered, egotistic, greedy and lazy, while still being able to function alongside other characters for purposes of plot, cooperating with them as needed. In a setting that's a lot more whimsical and consequence-free, and usually pretty low-stakes.So it's much easier to not hate Bender since he's not actively evil, and much harder to forgive Jax since he's basically actively undermining everyone around him and pushing them to literal death whenever he can as much as he can.
