The first Extermination must have been amazing. Like Hell is full of all these truly ancient Sinners, who’ve been reveling in their sin for millennia as the top dogs of Hell(in Pride at least) with millions of souls as slaves. Then all of a sudden a horde of angels descend down, effortlessly slaughtering their way through all the demons. The Sinners and overlords try fighting back, but they can’t even scratch the Exorcists, and then they quickly realize the fallen aren’t getting back up like Sinners have healed from before and are permanently dying. No wonder Adam thinks of it as entertainment, it’s basically the equivalent of a video game going back to some hard zone when you’re maxed level and oneshotting everything, cathartic as fuck.

But visually the scene visually evokes Eden (you have Adam and Lute standing there, while six angels look on, matching the number of the Elder angels and Sera presumably turning away from their 'wickedness') that I couldn't help but wonder if there's another layer to it. The way she emphasizes that self-sacrifice almost makes it sound like Adam *didn't* make that choice when he had the opportunity. So now I'm torn. Did Adam stand by Eve? Did he leave with her? Did he choose himself instead? I feel like there are hints pointing in multiple directions, and I'm not sure yet which one the show wants us to land on.

Vaggie is the fallen angel living in Hell, so she's given the red palette and horn-like silhouette, making her look "evil" even though she's one of the most genuinely selfless characters in the show. Meanwhile, Lute remains in Heaven with white, gold, halos, and all the traditional angelic imagery, despite falling deeper in her quest for revenge, in her anger and grief. The designs are intentionally at odds with the characters' morality. I don't think Vaggie's colors are foreshadowing a villain turn; they're reinforcing the irony of where each character ended up.
