The Terran shit is the only reason I continue to care about Monkey Wrench, but I don't think adding a cute girl to the protags is going to fix this shit. The show is always going to be bad, because its main characters are fucking god awful. Which is a shame because all the side characters and villains are actually fine. Kara, Jaw Bones, Kroe, Primary Red, all of them are fun. Its just Shrike and Beebs are fucking insufferable.

The main appeal of the story, at least to me, is the whole "Humans caused the apocalypse and are being hunted to extinction because of it" thing. Having the story be told from the perspective of a confused Human surviving in a hostile galaxy and trying to figure out why every alien they meets is either terrified of them or trying to kill them would have been way better than watching Shrike be a dumb annoying faggot for five episodes.

The fixation on these characters is the reason the show never took off despite being competently made and with an admittedly good cast of side characters.It's too much of an ask for your audience to tolerate the main duo especially shrike.I once jokes about it, but if they got another voice actor and voice acting direction this would improve the show tenfold, this is one of those shows that would be better enjoyed in Japanese with subtitles is the most sincere form of compliment I can give this show.

When was the last time we actually got a good sci-fi series about some masculine action hero dude going on badass sci-fi adventures? This is why Monkey Wrench makes me so sad. It took a really interesting premise and wasted it on a story about the two gayest fucking main characters ever.
