It's like, yes I can recognize the Gaang in these characters, none of them *really* ever act OOC at any point, but they all sort of feel like face characters you'd run into at Disneyland. It also expands/adds to the setting's mythos and history and I know some fans have mixed feelings about that, I thought it was fine but Aang's supper-Buddha form was a little too much for me. Basically if you like action (the fights ARE different in this, they don't do Korra's style of bending but the fights themselves are faster), pretty animation and just seeing the setting + characters again it's pretty nice but it feels weird as a first entry to their planned movie series.

Less so a finale that was literally just entirely for the purpose of Jax and nothing else. None of the other characters got a "Pomni episode" or a "Gangle episode" or anything, even in the episodes where they have a bunch of development, while Jax basically gets somewhere between 1 and 3 episodes mostly to himself
