Anyone got the issue to dump yet? Really starting to feel the loss of readcomicsonline, and none of the aggregators are useful enough to have it on time.

Didn't you know? /pol/tards hate both. Absolute batman is too big for these faggots to gain any traction with their retardness so they regurgitate their shit on camp mostly.

I think OP meant that as in; outside of storytimes, people use RCO. But because no one's dumping and RCO is gone, he can't read the new issues.

readcomiconline is back up though

>>
>>154475100
Then why haven't we gotten our regular dump yet?
>>
>>154475117
Because the guy who usually dumps Absolute issues isn't around?
>>
>>154475117
It hasn't been dumped yet, either wait or go outside and buy it normally
>>
Anyone else feel like 1-6 were better than the later issues? Hopefully the ending is satisfying
>>
>>154475214
I think there was a slight hiccup around the middle issues because the story was blatantly winding down and then they got the go ahead to extend it, but currently it's fine now in my opinion.
Green Arrow being extended if it sells well is more concerning to me because either you extend the mystery out for longer than intended or I guess it just turns into a more normal GA comic somehow?

Tangentially related to Absolute, but doesn't it seem like Absolute Joker is wasted potential? He's just a monstrous Pennywise now. Wouldn't it have been a better idea if Absolute Joker was also a subversive character; where at some point he realised Darkseid's influence on the universe and just decided it wasn't funny, and so is trying to make heroes so that there's someone to play a joke on. Maybe he could've had some kind of Batman-Who-Laughs-like tech that let him peer into the main universe and see that it was much funnier and started trying to replicate it. That would've kept some mystique to the character and I can just see a scene where Absolute Joker breaks down laughing because he's finally convinced that he's succeeded in making a Batman.
>>
>>154476605
>the few books that have already come out aren't even shared on there yet
Because RCO isn't actually the leading influence to getting shit archived
>>
Today we learned we are all cheap bastards lol
>>
>>154476871
Joker turning into a big dumb monster is lame, but also it being revealed immediately was lame too, if we have to have this it could've at least been built up to better. That "boo!" scene in the most recent issue being the first tease of his true form would've been fine.
>>

I'm actually going out to shops and buying a couple of books, but not because of DRM. I can't afford more than $15-$20 a week on shit I don't know if I'll like or not.

Normally I actually read shit here and then go buy it if I like it, within reason. Sucks to not have that today.
>>
I read the MM finale. It was really good, I'm not sure why they teased Uncle Sam if the book was going to end anyways, also the panels of Absolute Trinity were out of place and felt like they were shoehorned in just to tie it to the greater Absolute Universe, which was unnecessary.

I don't particularly mind Absolute Joker so far, I even sort of like the monster man who's forcibly kept himself alive for generations thing, but I do agree with this. A little subtlety for his not so subtle transformation could have been good. Just a hint that this freak who has literally been draining people dry on his fetus chair to survive is more of a monster than even that implies.

So was this the finale then? I've been putting off starting Absolute Martian Manhunter so I have no idea how long it was supposed to be running for.
>>
>>154478557
Thanks anon. I'm interested how this story has the idea of things being inseparable and always being inside each other deep down. It feels like the overall theme of the line, where in a world where Darkseid "won," where his will is at the center of all things, all the old ideas are still lurking around inside of that too, so just like how the mainline is never truly rid of Darkseid, he's never truly rid of the heroes and all they represent either.

I love how this book depicts how wrong everything about this universe is because of Darkseid. On the surface, John's narration in these pages reads like the ranting of a 12-year-old tryhard, but here it's all completely earned.

Thanks anon

Thanks anon. I've been following this but had no idea it was ending this issue.
For a sudden climax though, it did a good job
I liked seeing John's psychological illusions all manifest into plain reality this issue. And I agree with the premise of defeating the White Martian's avatar this way, through empathising with it. And by extension settling his issues with his family, making the White Martian manifest itself through his family was a clever way of resolving both crisises at once.
I thought the series was really cool. It has a constant theme it explores of Empathy vs Isolation, which makes it better than average capestuff since it has a constant thing it's asking.
I didn't agree with the author's obviously leftwing politics at times, but I can concede that he wasn't a cunt about it, and his writing is good regardless and didn't heavily invoke that. Kinda like Moore. Plot was also rushed at times, but not extremely so. They kind of leapt in this issue to the whole world's minds being destroyed, which you could blame on Green vs White using him and his son as the lynchpin of their conflict. Some questions remain unanswered, like if Green Martian really caused that accident that caused him to get involved like Desper-0 said.
The art remains the best part, what could you say about it that hasn't already been said. Favourite sequence is with his Martian Vision turned on when the canvas becomes Bright Yellow.

Overall 9/10 series, I wouldn't mind rereading this on my spare time. I definitely will at some point

Kind of wish Despair The Zero was more anti-hero-ish but he was a great doppelganger to the Martian, more comprehensible which made him far more dangerous to John's psyche.

Fantastic book overall.
>>
>>154481635
>like if Green Martian really caused that accident that caused him to get involved like Desper-0 said.

Despair doesn't lie but twists things around. I read it as the martian always being part of their lives because he is life itself, a representation of it at least.

>>
>>154483619
Anon, let's be honest; the reason why this book isn't good and not selling as much as it should is that Hal isn't leading it. The entire premise of Absolute is seeing classic characters with new takes, but Jo isn't a classic character, nor is she beloved, considering she's just another human character on an already crowded team.
>>
>>154483657
>Jo isn't a classic character, nor is she beloved

You know, I hadn't realized that, but you are right about that. There are a lot of human green lanterns and they really chose the least entertaining one to remix.

Which, could have been interesting because she's such a nothing burger that they could have done whatever the fuck they wanted with her. But they ended up making her an unlikable cunt lmao
>>
>>154483657
It sells more than most everything else at DC including Hal's book and that's all that matters to DC lmao
>>
>>154476871
I kinda like that even though he should hate Bruce not conforming to the rule of the universe per absolute evil, Joker is going to be an agent of chaos no matter the universe and is ecstatic to have that in Bruce
>>
>>154483804
>It sells more than most everything else at DC including Hal's book and that's all that matters to DC lmao
And it would have sold even more had Hal been front and center.
>>
>>154483914
Then why didn't Green Lantern Earth One sell?
>>
>>154483981
Or Morrison's GL run, doubly so considering how popular Morrison is.
>>
>>154483981
Might have been the part where there was a two-year gap between volumes 1 and 2.
>>
>>154483741
if I'd have chosen anyone to remix it'd be Guy.
He's not the Classic Hal or replacement Kyle, but he has the most potential for exploring a new angle of the Lanterns. What else is "willpower" if not being stubborn and bullheaded? Guy's the only one who fits that, to a fault.
Venditti did an interesting issue around that in Rebirth, when he fistfights Arkillo who's just like that, but an Alien. You could have the whole corps being like that, by necessity to power the rings.
>>
>>154483657
Yeah, Jo isn't even a decade old.
>>
>>154477869
Batman one was cringe. "Language doesn't make sense anymore because nothing means anything to anyone. Here's prettyboy Batman mildly inconvenienced by his calculations not coming easily."
Superman one was ok. Shows the far-reaching effects of this on the universe, and a moment of fear he's gonna lose a planet again for reasons he doesn't understand.
Wonder Woman one I thought she meant the White Martian was the ancient 'Kaos' blinking behind the cracks, but then I realised she just meant Darkseid again and yeah that's just tie-in stuff.

>>154483914

Green Lantern has always been a mid tier seller at best. Yes, even with Hal front and center. Johns' era was an anomaly that collapsed within 2-3 years of him leaving the book.
>>
>>154484322
> Johns' era was an anomaly that collapsed within 2-3 years of him leaving the book.
It literally collapsed the second he left because the run after that was Venditti’s first shot at Green Lantern and it was really, really bad because the Lights Out arc was insanely dumb. He would get it right by the time of Hal and Pals, but that was years after.
>>
>>154484537
GL had some juice after he left in Larfleeze and Sinestro's solos but once Rebirth hit the franchise collapsed back to 2 mid selling books and then with Morrison collapsed further to one mediocre selling one. And it seems like two mid selling books is the best GL can do (Adams & GLC) considering how AGL is another anomaly.
